Guest guest
Dear Gopalakrishna Babu, Quite frankly, I am relieved to hear that you do understand me when I write to others. Perhaps the Universe is trying to tell you through your very own words (quoted below) that you must ignore my messages addressed to you (after this one, of course, or the message would be lost! Again!! :-)) As they say, distraction is created not by outside noises but through noises inside when information is coming in and is being processed! By the way, let me explain my recent change from " Ji " to 'Babu/baboo' recently, which one person had seen as a sign of disrespect for some reason! You see, where I come from (in India) the " B " word is used more respectfully than the " J " word! And though I hardly have any connection with Bengal and more with the Center of India where all directions meet and unite, languages and customs and cuisine and religions -- Babu is a term of respect, just as it is in Bengal. However, it just occurred to me that due to Bollywood influence, 'Babu' has received a derogatory reference, just as has occurred to an associated beautiful form of music and dance AND THAT is very sad! Like everything else, the poison, just as is the case for 'RISK' lies in the perception! In the " Human Experience " !! Shanti!! Guest guest
Gopal-ji! My apologies :-) I certainly did not mean to address you or others as " babu " in the sense of being diminuitive towards your work and station in life! It is true that clerks are often called as Babu, but where I come from (M.P.), one's father is addressed as " Babuji " and it is considered respectful. Also 'babu' is a suffix of respect in bengalis from which the term " Babu-moshai " which perhaps you may have heard of also. Please take it in that sense and not in a derogatory sense. Now I see why that other gentleman on this or some other forum was getting upset at me! Thanks for setting that straight about 'Babu' being a somewhat derogative if not perjorative term in some or perhaps all of South India. Actually, I am quite comfortable with just first names and not really need to be addressed as Jee etc, but just Rohini or Rohiniranjan, just as Imran addresses me and a few others as well, publicly and privately :-) Where I live, being addressed by " first names " is not only accepted but rather the norm. And since you are perhaps older than me, that would be perfectly alright if you choose to call me by my first name. How does that sound? As to the 'noise', I believe that was a general statement and not specifically referring to you as having an external or internal noisy environment that drowns the signal :-) RR_, , " gopalakrishna " <gopi_b927 wrote: > > Dear Rohini ji, > Hope i have understood this!!No problem. In one of ur previous posts you > called me your brother which i acknowledged and also liked ,now you call > me babu.OK.In india in andhrapradesh state capital where i reside BABUS > are(called) government employees by the media(Times of india news > paper)which i read. But i am not a babu according to them since i am no > govt employee in my life and now retired volunterily from private > employment. > //As they say, distraction is created not by outside noises but through > noises inside when information is coming in and is being processed!// > This one i like since i know that there are NO NOICES for me both within > and outside.I practice yoga(kriya)hence i know what these noices mean.I > never keep my (computer)speakers on for ur info. > Warm regards, > gopi. > , " rohinicrystal " <jyotish_vani@> > wrote: > > > > Dear Gopalakrishna Babu, > > > > Quite frankly, I am relieved to hear that you do understand me when I > write to others.
