Guest guest
|| Om Brihaspataye Namah || Dear members, Namaste and Hare Krishna I notice that sometimes mantras are given out to those in need in certain forums, which means that everyone can read them. Should not mantras be given in private to the enquirer so as to keep its potency? Or are these mantras the exception to the rule? Can someone please explain? Thankyou. Guest guest
|| Jaya Jagannath ||Dear Bivash,Actually that depends on the purpose. If it is a guru mantra given by a Guru for a very specific purpose (also creating a bond with the Guru- like getting into a lineage etc), then it is given in Private; else it can be given in Public. This is what I think. Others can comment too.RegardsSarajitOn Dec 11, 2007 8:50 PM, Bivash Ramroop <bivaash108 wrote: || Om Brihaspataye Namah || Dear members, Namaste and Hare Krishna I notice that sometimes mantras are given out to those in need in certain forums, which means that everyone can read them. Guest guest
Dear Bivash, I agree with what Sarajit says. I also think that mere letters given do not form a mantra. It needs to be given by some one who is so authorized by his spiritual Guru to so give it, for it to be effective. If I remember right, Kularnava tantra says that the mantras are nothing but a group of words and letters unless received from a realized Guru. Of course this is my personal opinion and others may hold a different view. Chandrashekhar. Sarajit Poddar wrote: || Jaya Jagannath || Dear Bivash, Actually that depends on the purpose.
