Guest guest
Jai Jai Shri Jagannath!!! Dear Gurudeva, Namastae! Here is my attempt at answering assignment 10. 1) Determine the Predominating Tatwa in the Lagna of your chart. Ans: My Lagna is in Libra. Vayu Tatwa. (If Rasi Dhristi is considered, generally for all signs - except for Dwiswabhava, another sign of same Tatwa aspects it. So I am not sure, if Rasi Dhristi alters the Tatwa factor. Trines to Lagna are of the same Tatwa. So they do not alter the Tatwa of the Lagna sign). The other consideration I can think of is the Grahas aspecting from Signs involved in Rasi Dhristi. In which case only Retrograde AtmaKaraka Saturn aspect Libra from Aquarius - who incidentally rules Vayu Tatwa. So, my understanding is, Lagna is predominantly Vayu in my chart. 2) What is implied by Exaltation and debility of Rahu in Taurus and scorpio respectively? Why Ketu is not exalted for matters of longevity? Rahu, as a karmic reverser of anything normal and cause of re-birth, has to push the native towards material pursuits. As the second house in the natural jodiac being 'Dhana' house, Rahu is exalted there. He obviously feels much comfortable to be in the house of his Guru (Venus - Asura Guru). The wise Brahman who can even make him rise from death thru his sanjeevini Mantra . In addition he gets to exert his influence over all four directions (ayanas) of Artha (10th thru Rasi dhristi), Kama (7th thru Rasi dhristi), Moksha (4th thru Rasi dhristi) and Dharma (1st thru special 12th aspect). His aim of taking the native to abysmal depths thru material maya can be completely realised by being in Taurus - Hence he is exalted in there. His Debilitation (as per rule has to be 180 degrees opposite to point of Exaltation) in Scorpio has the opposite effect for he happens to fall in the house longevity for one and the house happenes to be owned by the supreme commander-in-cheif (Mars the General) of this universe. Who would not think twice to slay those that revolt against the King (Narayana). Hence he is un-happy in here. Ketu's aim is to lead the native to the feet of MahaVishnu. He is not interested in Longevity - be it long or short. His ultimate goal is to make sure all forms of life reaches where we all have come from. Unite as one with the imperceptible paramatma, and hence Mokshakaraka Ketu is not exalted. (Actually, I do not know Ketu is not exalted for Longevity matters - I am only guessing here. Probably after this lesson is over, I will understand this better. Please pardon me, if I am wrong). 3) What do you understand by the terms MoolaTrikona and Swakshetra of each of the planets? Explain with illustrations. MoolaTrikona is like a place to perform duty - something official or assigned workplace (Borrowing Shri Narasimha's analogy of Work and Home). Swakshetra is like own Home. Where you are not troubled by duties, or offcial responsibilities, deadlines, deliverables etc...A place where you simply sit and relax and philosophically ponder over things that interest you. Spend time, share and laugh with your loved ones. Help each other out. Take care of the guests that come to your Home. Eg 1: Moon's MoolaTrikona is Taurus. The Divine mother of this universe considers Taurus as her MoolaTrikona - an Official place to work. Because it is the early part of (2nd house) child's life. It is the house for food and speech(some other second house significations). It is the house of learning at young age. Even though, Taurus is not Her own sign (Every other planet's MoolaTrikona, falls in their own sign), inspite of knowing that the lord of Taurus (Venus) considers her an Enemy (Moon is Venus's enemy), even though he is not a great friend of hers (Venus is Moon's neutral), Taurus is Her MoolaTrikona. Because, what can be more official to a Mother than taking care of her child?. What can bring more happiness (Exaltation point is also Taurus for Moon) to mother than feeding and teaching her little one?. Well-being and welfare of her children is the prime responsibility/duty/official job for Moon. So she exalts in Taurus. Moon's Swakshetra is her own sign - Cancer. This is where mother nurtures (4th house of natural jodiac) her grown-up child with love and care. Supporting him thru his formal education. She provides guidance, source of happiness for the children. eg2. MoolaTrikona of Venus is Libra. Out of the two rasis (Taurus and Venus) that Venus owns, 7th house of the natural jodiac Libra is Venu's MoolaTrikona. Because his Karmic duty is to push the native into deepest depths of Kama (Desires). He rules bedrooms. Over indulgence in all material and sexual pursuits is the order of the life. As the 7th decides the direction for Kama Trikona. (It is said, even though Venus drives us into material depths - his intention is to make us realise, at the end-of-it all, there is nothing really that we can be proud about or feel happy about. At the height of it all, when it dawns on you, that all that you were so vehemently going after, is unreal. It hits you so hard - and we fall at the feet of Srimannarayan automatically). Taurus, Venus's other sign, a Tamasic/Earthly sign is his Swakshetra. Here Venus, probably, is more comfortable. Please accept my respectful obeisances and let me know of your opinion on the above.
