Guest guest
Dear Shyamasundara Prabhu, PAMHO, AGTSP. > > Basically you said that 8th had only to do with stool not urine and that > Ketu in 8th could have nothing to do with urinary problems because 8th was > not associated with this. > > However, in your own book Jaimini's Upadesha Sutram 3.3.21-22 you state: > > " Saturn and Rahu in the aforementioned houses (3/8) cause kidney complaint > and urinary disorders. > > If Mars and Ketu are in the 3/8 houses urinary complaints are sure to occur > frequently. The main point however being that the > 8th house when afflicted can lead to urinary and kidney complaints. And from > your translation any malefic in the 8th can lead to some degree of problem > with the kidney and urinary system. May I have a question? On what basis do you take the liberty to apply a principle that is valid for Arudha Lagna and Atmakaraka to the houses from Moon and Lagna? Do you think that these four: Arudha Lagna, Atmakaraka, Chandra Lagna and Janma Lagna will indicate completely identical thing, especially regarding death circumstances of a person? I would have two notices to this: 1. Maharishi Jaimini speaks especially about the circumstances and cause of death in these Sutras. The event in Srila Prabhupada's chart that we are discussing (stricture in the urethra) had happened well before His death. Therefore we can't apply these Sutras of Jaimini to explain this event. Also he links different diseases and bpdily complaints to the p[lanets themselves and not to the particular houses. So this is a kind of a misleading presentation of the Sutras of Jaimini. 2. Even if they were applicable, Jaimini clearly states in Sutra 3.3.1 that he will give results pertaining to the Arudha of the 1st house, not the 1st house itself. The basis of taking Atmakaraka into consideration is Sutra 3.2.1. He never mentions that these rules are valid for the Lagna or the Moon house itself. So I would consider that you quoted out of place and stretched the rules without a basis just to support your point. For causes of death in Srila Prabhupada's chart please consider the 3rd and 8th from Atmakaraka Rahu (i.e. Aries and Virgo), and the 3rd and 8th from Arudha lagna (i.e. Gemini and Scorpio). Both are independent of the Lagna question. Of the above mentioned houses only the 8th from Atmakaraka has planets, which are two benefics, debilitated Venus and exalted Mercury. The Sutras that are valid in this case are as follows: 2.2.13: Benefics conjoining/aspecting the 3rd house (or 8th) indicate painless/easy death. 2.2.23: Venus influencing the 3rd house causes urinary problems, kidney damage etc. as the cause of death. 2.2.28: Jupiter or Venus in the 3rd indicate awareness of the period of death. 3.3.10. If the Arudha Lagna is aspected by Jupiter or Jupiter is in the 5th from it, death occurs in a room. Of course the above will not decide the Capricorn/Sagittarius controversy, as these significations ade not dependent on the Lagna in this case. But they explain what you tried to explain through the 8th house placement of Jupiter and Ketu. By the way I would urge you to properly study Upadesa Sutras from Sanjayji, as they are very useful, and can really be mastered under the guidance of a Jyotish Guru in the Parampara, which he fully is. Just by reading books, too much confusion may arise in the proper understanding of the Sutras.
