Direction to Face When Doing Japa (How to Choose?)

Hello all,

 

It is my understanding that one should face East when doing japa for spiritual

purposes, North for personal well being and West for material comforts. Is this

correct?

 

I would assume then that if one is given a mantra for career that it is best to

face West? What direction should one face when trying to improve a debilitated

Venus (In order to improve relationships etc..)
