Jaya Jaya Jagannath!

Dear Gurudeva Sanjayji and enlightened shisas,

Dandavats! Jayasrila Prabhupada! I finally obtained the stone Gurudeva

Sanjayji prescribed for me after 4 months of looking.

Consequently I reread six books on Gemstones to refresh my understanding

regarding the best way to install them. I discovered something I don't

remember seeing in the book " Gems and Their Occult Powers " by P.N. Sherman

page 20 last paragraph, he says that a stone should be installed during the

rising? waxing moon, and goes on to say, " It can be more effective if worn on

a solar eclipse day. " Another interesting point was the 3/4 carat should

always be avoided.

Does this mean that to install a gem using the graha mantra during a solar

eclipse is good? This comes as a surprise. My previous understanding was that

only transcendental mantras like Hare Krishna should be uttered during an

eclipse because spiritual mantra is amplified during an eclipse.

Shouldn't a transcendental mantra be used instead of a graha mantra to invoke

the auspiciousness while installing a stone (in my case a diamond)?

I was going to install the diamond on my little finger after bathing it in

milk and rinsing in water and circling with incense while chanting mantras on

Friday the 11th February at Sunrise unless it would be better to do it during

this upcoming partial eclipse this Saturday at 8:50 am EST. Please enlighten

me as to the best process.

Yours in Jagannath Seva, Kusha devi dasi
