Guest guest
Jaya Jagannath Dear Sarajit, If you look at the rules for Kakshya/Rasi Hrasa/Vriddhi very carefully you will find very similar conditions existing. Thus we are at a loss as to allow Kakshya Vriddhi or Rasi vriddhi. Then you will see that in almost every chart Jupiter is afflicted in one way or another showing that our " Dhi Shakti " or intelligence is NOT PERFECT...after all, if it was, would we be born? The purity and strength of Jupiter is the Gayatri Mantra while that of Venus is the Sanjivani Mantra. Secondly, Kakshya vriddhi is seen in the lives of Great Saints like Sri Markandeya (of Markandeya Purana fame) who recited the Mritunjaya Mantra and had Kakshya vriddhi where his sure apamrityu was averted. This cannot be operated arbitrarily on all charts to say thata case of Alpa Ayus has become Madhya ayus. It leaves a lot of scope for arbitrariness. Sri Iranganti Rangacharya has made the first attempt to provide a point system for this, but it is not very satisfactory. Vipareeta kakshya vriddhi/hrasa works well. In Ayus, try to be as close to the basics and you will get good results. Another thing is that the Jupiter-saturn consideration is more apt for the Ayus calculated by the system of the three lords i.e. Lords of the 1st, 8th and 10th house. If Saturn not being the lord conjoins or aspects, it causes kakshya Hrasa while that of Jupiter causes kakshya Vriddhi. This also teaches the importance of reciting the Gayatri Mantra everyday. While the Maharishi Parasara has listed them out, Jaimini has gone one step further in trying to differentiate their usage. Thus in the example you cite about Jupiter, if you are using the method of the three pairs, then this placement of Jupiter causes Rasi Hrasa while if you are using the method of the three lords it causes Kakshya Hrasa. In an example I have shown how for a girl born in Pisces with Jupiter (1st & 10th Lord) in debility in a malefic sign and Venus in debility caused Balarishtha or premature death. Here the three lords system has worked. Now I have some queries on Kakshya Hrasa and Rasi Hrasa as given in UPSJ. According to sloka 2.1.25 Lagna lord (Jupiter also) in a malefic sign (other than its exaltation sign), debilitated, having malefic association should cause Kakshya hrasa by implication, i.e., if it follows from the earlier sloka. But Gurudev in his interpretation in a page after some pages (sorry for not giving the page no.) says it causes Rasi hrasa. Similarly according to the sloke 2.1.27, which says Jupiter's position in a good/benefic place and benefic association would cause Kakshya Vriddhi. But Gurudev interpreted it as Rasi Vriddhi. In another subsequent sloka, Saturn in associating with or aspecting the Paka lagna/ Jupiter would cause Rasi Hrasa. If earlier two sklokas had meant the same i.e., Rasi Hrasa then this sloka is unnecessary or Redundant. But if the earlier sloka meant Kakshya Hrasa then it would be a exceptional condition and hence its presence is justified. In earlier sloka it is mentioned that malefic is the 1st/7th from lagna/ atmakaraka also cause Kakshya hrasa which has not been mentioned in subsequent summery on Kakshya hrasa or Rasi Hrasa. I have also found another condition for Kakshya Vriddhi in BPSH which says that Jupiter in the Lagna or 7th aspected by benefics also cause Kakshya Vriddhi. This is a special case of sloka 2.1.27 meaning Kakshya Vriddhi.
