Dear Sanjay and class members,

The Real Time here in Galway, Ireland is 3a.m on 20th April 2000

Having made a few enquires on who Sri Ram is and looking at the chart, I will

attempt to answer your questions from my limited knowledge.

Thanks again for your patience.

QUESTION 1. Famous as a powerful warrior due to exalted Mars, Yogakaraka,

FAME lord of 5/10 aspecting 10th.

Famous as a renunciate due to exalted Saturn aspecting

10th

Famous for his love and respect of women due to exalted Jupiter

aspecting Moon and Venus

Famous as a leader in the world due to Exalted Sun in 10th.

Probably had great power of speech as lord of 2nd.

Sun in 10th made him highly influential.

Yogas Chamara yoga = 2 benefics in Ascendant

per Shankha Yoga = Lord of 10th in Movable sign. Capricorn

BVRaman " Lagna lord in Movable sign Cancer

Kesari Yoga = Moon/Jupiter in quadrant to each other,

(name goes to posterity)

Obhayachari Yoga = benefics in 2nd and 12th from Sun

Lakshmi Yoga = 9th lord in quadrant exalted

" Lagna lord conjunct 9th lord

Panchamahapurusha Yogas

Ruchaka Mars exalted in quadrant

Hamsa Ju exalted in Lagna

Sasa Sa exalted in quadrant

QUESTION 2 Rahu aspect on Moon/Jupiter/Lagna/Sun

ENEMIES Mars aspect on Moon/Jupiter/Lagna/Sun

Saturn aspect on Moon/Jupirt/Lagna/Sun

Sri Ram had very powerful enemies in these 3 most malefic

planets challenging his purpose for being here. They afflict

his body, mother, father, Guru and children. Or himself, his

childhood, home, peace of mind, happiness, health, work.

Maybe he had to experience the pain and sadness of loss

in these fundamental areas in life to ignite the courgage to

fight for them for everyone else. The enemies destruction was

brought about by the Sattvic power of Jupiter/Moon

motivating his Dharma and Yogakaraka Mars giving him

the courage to fight for the highest truth.

QUESTION 3.

DARMA LESSON TAUGHT BY SRI RAM

I know you have explained this through EKA PATNI but as I didnt

know what these words meant I had to look for it in the chart.

Planets posited in the Dharma Houses are Jupiter/Moon/Venus

and Mars is a Dharma and Karma Lord. Exalted Jupiter is

honourable, providing guidance and protection to the Moon,

Venus, Mars, and 1st, 5th and 9th by direct aspect. His

duty therefore was to protect the mother, the wife and siblings

as well as the self, the child and the Guru(father) i.e. the family.

QUESTION 4

PAST LIFE CURSE

As outlined earlier, he had very strong enemies Rahu/Saturn/Mars

which deprived him of childhood happiness and forced him to leave

home. I couldnt find in BPHS who was responsible for the affliction

or why. As the signs Aries, Cancer and Sagittarius are the most

afflicted I would propose that previously he may have been overly

arrogant in his behaviour towards his mother and his guru.

The remedy might be to offer service to help mothers and fathers

without gaining anything for himself. Maybe that is why we in the

west do not know of him or the value of the work he did.

QUESTION 5

MARRIAGE/CHILDREN

5th house is surrounded by Saturn and Rahu, while Jupiter, karaka

for children, aspected by Saturn and Mars may have caused delay.

Mars, lord of 5th and yogakaraka, getting the aspect from moon and

Jupiter, with Jupiter also aspecting the 5th gave him nice children

due to benefic aspect. Dont know how to read twins though!

Maybe a double aspect of Jupiter, once on 5th lord and also on

5th house. Jupiter likes to do things big!

Interesting the double aspect of Saturn and Jupiter, with

Jupiter winning.

QUESTION 6

SITA his wife was a powerful woman and is also famous.

Venus Karaka, exalted, Lord of 7th Saturn Exalted,

and 7th house aspected by 2 powerful benefics.

Maybe without her love he would never have been

able to achieve what he did. And because of his

love for her he was prepared to go to great lengths

to protect her.

With Cancer Lagna, he was sensitive, generous and kind.

Having 2 benefics in the Lagna and lord of 2nd exalted,

he was probably also very handsome with beautiful eyes,

and had many admirers! Due to the aspects from the

malefics any pursuit of selfish interests would bring

suffering. The rest of the story I dont know but I look

forward to reading it.

QUESTION 7

Sri Rama as a significator for the Sun, I dont know.

Maybe because his life became a beacon of light

for so many who came after him.

Again, if anyone knows of a Sanskrit/English dictionary

they could recommend I would really appreciate it.

Dear Sanjay, I checked the website you recommended

and added them to my own list, but I need more than is

available there. I know too little.

In the meantime I would be grateful if you could explain

the following words:

SHIKSHA

JANAKI

DANDAKARANYA (danda = punishment)

VANVAS

SIMHASANA (simha = leo) (yoga teacher friend said this is a yoga posture)

EKA (one) PATNI

During my research I found the meaning for the word DIKSHA and

realised what a blessing it is for me that you have chosen to take

me as a student. Your chosing me as your SHISYA means you

see me as worthy of your knowledge and wisdom. I pray I will

be able to honour your belief in me and find a way to serve you.

As a westerner, I asked with the expectation and innocence of a

child without the realisation of what it really meant to become your

shishya. If there is anything I have said that may have offended you

or anyone in your class in any way, it was not intentional.

Also, even though my level of technical knowledge is not as good

as others I would still like to participate in all the assignments,

however long it takes. This one has been very difficult

due to time constraints and getting used to Rahu in 6th in Sag

stuff visiting me. Being part of your class is a gift to myself

that I really want to continue.

p.s. my picture is in the post as I do not have a scanner, my

computer is too old to accomadate one.

Go raibh mile maith agat (may you have thousands of good things happen to you)

the above is how we say thank you in the Irish language.

Your shishya

Pearl.
