Guest guest
Dear Yasomatinandana, Thank you very much for your kind help! Dear Narasimha and Beatrice, Namaste. Jaya Jagannath! Of course, you are right. I did not check it. With vairaagya, and the last line goes as saannam bhaga itingana I guess you mean "shannaam bhaga iteengana" with both n's in the first word being alveolar (as in "mani") and "sh" being the alveolar form of s (as in Vishnu). In the Balaram font version you gave and the above version, you wrote only plain "s". It doesn't make sense to me. It will make sense if you change plain "s" to alveolar "s" (intuitively "sh" and s with a dot under it in Balaram font scheme). Basically the same "s" (with a dot beneath) used in "Visnu Purana" should be used in "sannam". If you agree with my change, this is the word-wise meaning: shannaam = of the six, bhaga = lord/Sun/Moon/..., iti = etc/this way (approx), ingana = breakup of a compound substance. I thought there was a typo and planet names were coded in the last line (using one letter per planet). From what you gave, it turns out that that's not the case. In this case, Beatrice, your question is valid. Either the surrounding verses make the planetary associations clear (can YND be kind enough to quote the verse before and after this) or this is an interpretation. The word "bhaga" means lord and it also means Sun and also Moon. It has many other meanings. This line can be interpreted to mean "the breakup for these six is Sun etc" among other things. The exact association is not clear from this verse. Also not clear is which are the exact six aspects. Options are (1) supremacy, (2) completeness, (3) valour, (4) fame, (5) wealth, (6) knowledge and renunciation or (1) complete supremacy, (2) valour, (3) fame, (4) wealth, (5) knowledge, (6) renunciation. It is unclear. Can YND quote more verses? If you don't mind I am sending to all the font Balaram which is the diacritic font. Most of the quotes I have are with diacritics. So in the future, I will simply copy the texts with a hope that you can view them with the Balarama font. aiçvaryasya samagrasya véryasya yaçasaù çriyaù jïäna-vairägyayoç caiva saëëäà bhaga itiìgana (Viñëu Puräëa 6.5.47)kinedst regards Yasomatinandana das May Jupiter's light shine on us, Narasimha
