Hamsa Om So'ham

Dear Chandra,

Hamsa Om So'ham has worked. It is the Dipana Mantra for OM and I believe

that this Akshara is within each one of us. No matter how strong our

differences externally, actually we are one and the same " OM " . Hence if Om

prevails, Shanti automatically follows..

Coming to the nice questions you have raised. I vaguely recollect that

Sri Kishen Kaul has made a very sincere attempt to establish that the

ayanamsa is all bogus and that the Sayana Zodiac was the actual Vedic zodiac

instead of the Nirayana Zodiac. I shall try to collect that work again,

although it is a bit outside my targeted work right now. He had extensively

quoted and interpreted the shastra which seemed to be a fine attempt at

redefining or rather a serious research into Vedic Jyotish. I have to study

this again to comment on it seriously. Have you read my small write up on

the Brahma Vidya at www.sjvc.net ? I hope it interests you and is of some

help in your research. There is also a small write up on Nakshatra where I

have attempted to work on the Veda.

The concept of the Bha-Chakra as just one two dimensional diagram with

twelve spokes is and should be challenged. The Bha-Chakra should be more

than just this. However, this is still the most important part of the

Bha-chakra. It cannot take into account Ayana of the planets which also have

relevance in Jyotish and hence is limited in such areas.

Antiquity and dating are very interesting subjects. I shall be grateful

for copies of your research as and when they are made available. I shall

also be grateful if you kindly explain your views on the Dipana Mantra so

that all may benefit. I agree that there are many authorities on Mantra and

no single one can be taken as the final word. Hence this discussion can only

be an expression of one's views and understanding at a point of time, and as

the knowledge is revealed with time, age etc, then this will and should

change.

Best Regards,

Sanjay Rath
