Dear Gurujis,

I am seeking a clarification.

I have read that Guru and Shani destroy the effects of the house they

occupy but benefit the houses they aspect. I have my doubts. How can

a out and out benefic like Guru destroy the house he occupies? In

case of Shani, being an out and out natural malefic, why is it said

that he benefits BY ASPECTING?

An astrologer told me a story yesterday.

I believe, Ravana had captured and imprisioned all planets and kept

them under his steps - threshold- down on their stomachs and arranged

them in such a way that his son indrajit would be invincible when he

was born. Narad muni arrives on the scene at the point of Indrajit's

birth and tells Ravan " Why do you keep the planets down on their

stomachs? You should put them on their backs and step on their

chests " . Ravan does the same, and Shani's drashti falls on him. At

the same time, now that he is on his back, Shani lifts his foot and

places it in the next house , there by disrupting the carefully

planned arrangement made by Ravan regarding the placement of planets

at the time of Indrajit's birth. RAvan who notices this , is supposed

to have hit Shani's leg for doing that and that is why Shani is lame.

This is what caused Indrajit's downfall later on.

Please clarify. Is Shani's aspect more malefic that his occupation of

a house?

Regards,

Anita
