Thanks for the new lesson. Understanding Arudha not only helps us in Jyotish, it also, makes us to understand the Maya in this world, which will help us in our spiritual growth. One more thanks for the thought provoking exercises. My answers are below.

EXERCISE 2: Consider the following matters. Using standard references, you can figure out the relevant house for each of the matters. Go one step ahead: Identify which of the matters live inside a native (true houses) and which of them rise in the material world (arudhas).

Some of the answers for these are already in the lesson.

(14) Bank balance - Here is my problem, some time back I wanted ask a question in this regard. It is good that we have the lesson now.

Dhanam should be seen from the 2nd house. But, one might have billion dollar, still may feel, he is without dhanam. But, how the world measure or perceive about that native with respect to physical wealth is to be seen from 2nd house from AL.

But, there are other assets, which is not physically available, but the world perceives that a person is wealthy. Like, the shares. Bill Gates and Narayana Moorthi are perceived as richest men based on their share price. But, they are not having the physical wealth on a particular date. I think, this sort of wealth to be seen from A2. Please, correct me.

EXERCISE 3: Consider a native with the dasamsa given in Chart 3. He had a quarrel with an international organization, over which he was stripped of world championshiop in a game.

(a) Identify which house or arudha shows a public spat with a powerful body. Find it in the chart.

First to identify the powerful body: It seems that the native is a sports person and his carrier is in sports. We used to see the A10 in Dasamsa for the work place. In sports also, one is identified by associating with an organisation by way of winning their trophy or cup. So, A10, being the Rajya pada also, I selected the A10. Then to see the misunderstanding or quarrelling, I am looking at the 8th house there from. (The logic I used is during the dasa period of dusdhana signs from A10, person's lose the job). Among the dusdhanas 8th is the house of quarrel and battle. So, in my opinion with my limited knowledge, I think Ar. is the sign responsible for this. Apart from this, dasamsa lagna is in shastashtaka position with A10. So, in general this person will have conflicts with whatever organisation he is associated with.(b) Identify which house or arudha shows winning a championship. Find it in the chart.

I am not sure which one to take. If it is sports, whether, we should consider the 5th from 3rd house or not. However, here I am considering the 5th house for the winning the competition, so it must be A5. During dasa of the non-dusthana signs, the native is prone to get the championships. So, here, A5 is Sg. So, the trinal house favours the chances of winning, especially, 5th from A5. During the Ar. Narayana dasa the native might have got the championship. As GL also in the Ar., he might have got some fame out of it.

© Find the rasis that shows loss of championship. [Hint: Remember that trines from a house show its prosperity. Remember Sanjay's recent guideline that the 9th house from any house is its primary protector. This is a fundamental principle. Use it!]

Leo is the Rasi responsible for loss of the championship, it is 9th from the A5, afflicted by Rahu and its lord is debilitated and he is also aspected by Saturn and Ketu.

(d) Find the common link and identify the rasi whose Narayana dasa may have resulted in a public spat and loss of world championship.

I think Ar. Narayana dasa might have brought him all the fame and championship and it is also the rasi which caused him the damage due the organisation involved. Leo is aspecting Ar. (e) [Optional] If you are familiar with Narayana dasa computation, compute dasamsa Narayana dasa and find when this dasa runs.

As so many factors are involved, I tried my level best. But, I am not confident

If the dasa sign is OK, then I can calculate the Narayana dasa period.
