Guest guest
Namaste Robert, > * I get Sg dasa for 11y, not 10y as you gave. Thanks for the correction. You are absolutely right. I made an error. With Jupiter in the 12th from Sg, dasa length is 12-1=11 years. Because some people may save my examples for later reference, I am going to correct it and repost it. Make sure that you reject the original example 2 and save only the resent version. Otherwise, you may get confused later. The second version will incorporate the additional info given by Robert. > Anyway, I think I am correct in saying that the Sg dasa should be 11 years > in my case. This puts 1st initiation at Sg/Aq (see my previous email), 2nd > initiation at Sg/Sg, and Jyotish initiation with Guru-gayatri mantra, at > Sc/Pi. Sg-Pi makes the best sense for coming under the influence of a guru (Pi is aspected by exalted Mercury in gurupada - arudha of 9th - and Pi's lord is in 9th from Pi). Pi antardasa is a great candidate for bringing a guru into your life. Sg-Pi brought Srila Prabhupada into your life and Sc-Pi brought Sanjay Rath. Do you know when you came under the influence of Sri K.N. Rao? Sg-Aq for first initiation is an acceptable candidate (5th house). Sg-Sg for the second and fuller initiation and mantra practice is a perfect candidate. * * * You had one initiation in the antardasa of 5th house and one in the antardasa of the arudha of 5th house. Just a quick note on the difference between 5th and the arudha pada of 5th: The 5th house is the house of emotions and judgments. It shows bhakti (devotion) and dedication to God in drig dasa. As I said earlier, arudha padas show maya (illusions). Arudha pada of a house shows the illusions associated with that house. They usually deal with materialistic or formal things. Please don't take this negatively and combatively: Mantras, rituals and similar procedures of God are an illusion of this world related to bhakti, devotion and dedication to God. The two are different. The former are seen from the arudha of 5th (mantra pada) and the latter are seen from the plain 5th house. * * * > * Question: Can you take Drig dasa to D-20, and study it in that context, > similar to how we do it for D-20 Narayana dasa? I was told that Narayana dasa is one of the very few dasas applicable to divisional charts. Dasas like Sudasa and Drig dasa apply to very specific matters and we don't have them defined separately for rasi chart and the divisional chart under question. Only Narayana dasa is.
