Dear Narasimha,

I must have written my post on Drig dasa, at the same time you wrote yours,

using my chart as an example!

* I get Sg dasa for 11y, not 10y as you gave.

* Also, the 2nd initiation (contrary to what I just wrote 5 minutes ago)

came early in spring 1972. I may have misquoted this before, but this was

the actual date of the 2nd initiation. So I get Sg dasa, Sg AD for this

time period, using Sg dasa for 11y. Aq AD was the 1st initiation, as

mentioned before.

>(3) Cn has Saturn. Cn dasa can bring ascetic life. Drig dasa of the sign

>containing Saturn gives detachment and discipline in one's spiritual pursuit.

I have Cn dasa operating between 9/78 and 9/87. This was indeed a period

of intense austerity and devotion service. I was the head Pujari in the

Hare Krsna temple in Seattle from 1981 to 1987 during this period. Prior

to that, I was in India since spring of 1987, where life in the temple was

very austere, yet spiritually highly rewarding. All in all, it was a

period of accelerated renunciation and Tapasya.

>(4) Ta has Rahu. Its short dasa can open the avenues for inward growth and

>spiritual understanding.

During this dasa I started my studies of Jyotish, and later left the temple

life in 1989. I have 9/87 to 9/90 for Taurus dasa. note Mercury/Venus/Sun

in 5th from Taurus, while Saturn + Mars cause Argala to it (Sat. as 5th

lord, Mars as AK).

>(5) Current dasa Sc has Jupiter and Ketu. It is also excellent for spiritual

>pursuit and inward understanding. However, antardasa from Aug 1999 to Mar

2000

>is Cp, which contains kashta pada (A8, arudha pada of 8th). Its antardasa can

>throw obstacles in religious pursuit. Sg antardasa during 3/2000-10/2000

will be

>good for mantra sadhana.

This seems to be indicated too in D-24 Narayana dasa, where Pisces is the

Maha dasa, with Cancer (containing exalted Jupiter) becoming the AD in

March. The correspondence is good between the two dasa systems.

Anyway, I think I am correct in saying that the Sg dasa should be 11 years

in my case. This puts 1st initiation at Sg/Aq (see my previous email), 2nd

initiation at Sg/Sg, and Jyotish initiation with Guru-gayatri mantra, at

Sc/Pi.

With regards,

Robert
