Guest guest
AUM SRI GURUVE NAMAH Dear Gurudev and jyotish Bandhu! Though I am back a few days ago and goin through the mails regularly, I didn't get time to write something, by devoting some time as I was quite busy from lately. Though I downloaded the VRY tutorial I have not been able to take a print out. I shall be greatful if you send me a copy in word document format. I shall try to answer the first question on Rajyoga..I didn't get much time to go through some classic texts and work on some charts but I shall convey my overall understanding of Rajayoga! Literally yoga mean joining or combination and Raja mean the King. When both the words combine the generate a meaning such as combination of planets that can produce King. But this should not be interpreted too literally as to all Rajayoga produce a King. By king the Maharishis might have meant with affluence, name, fame, power or other aspects related to a king. In the modern context we may interpret a king as a government servant, ruler or a state or so on. But other than giving all those aspects i mentioned above like affluence, it may give some very drastically different result like a very highly spiritual saint. This depends on the overall inclination of the chart or the tendency of the planets in the chart to confer a particular type of result. Genereally we can understand Rajayoga as some kind of Auspicious yoga which enhances some inherent qualities of the chart. But it must be noted that the beholder of the yoga will be advanced in the life atleast one area, may it be in material level or in spiritual level. There are numerous Rajayoga enumerated by sages and most common among those are that form with the association of Kendra and Trikona lords. Lagna being both the Trikona and Kendra Pati, it will confer rajayoga with association of both the Kendra and Kona pati. Dr. BV Raman said that among all these associations, the most auspicious is the combination of 9th and 10th lord called the Dharma-Karmadhipatya yoga. But again all these combination will not give the same result in all the native and the influencing factors will be 1. The strength of the association 2. The planets forming the association 3. The houses involved in the association 4. The overall tendency of the chart (yoga can give the power but how the native will use the power is determined by various tendencies of the chart). The same dharma-karmadhipatya yoga is quite capable of making a native a ruler or a saint. Hence the yoga cannot be studied in isolation. But inorder the yoga to function, the chart should be free from any afflictions to the Sun and the Moon and the Yoga Karakas (Planets forming the yoga) should also be free from any blemishes like debilitated in Navamsa or placed with natural malefics or placed in a malefic house and so on. Becaus the Sun is the soul and the Moon is the Mind. Unless the Mind and the soul has the capacity to take the burden of the yoga, the yoga will not be able to realize its full potential. For fructification, it also should be noted that any rajayoga-bhangas are not present. I can conclude by saying that a rajayoga can enhance some aspects of the native's life like power, authority, fame, spiritual enhancement, knowledge etc. But the Rajayoga by itself cannot determine how the power will be used or how the native will earn fame (which can be determined by the tendency of the chart to confer some specific result. I shall work out some horoscopes and send my analysis in the next mail.
