Guest guest
Dear Sanjayji and other learned friends, Much has been said so far, but I will do my duty and give my opinion. Sorry for belated answer(had a lot of work and a small trip) RAJA YOGA Raja means " royal " while yoga means " union " Thus as Maharishi Parashara explained with a union of Mahavishnu and Mahalakshmi(kendra and kona lords) when this yoga occurs, the person becomes famous. There are different types of raja yogas, and as we all know their fructification depends on the strenght of sun and moon, The king and the queen of the planetary cabinet(quite logical isn't it?) Sanjayji clearly explained the term Yogada, the sutra being found in BPHS. Parashara also mentions the strenght of a planet while fullfilling the yoga. If there are several planets, the stronger will manifest the yoga more prominently. It seems that strength of a planet is very important(shadbala) while vimpsopaka bala can be useful while timing the yoga(strength in dasha) I think that raja yogas formed in divisional charts will function in reference to a particular division. Ghati Lagna stands for power, and ghati lagna in divisional charts such as panchamsa and dashamsa will have a strong say as well. Aruda lagna is the image, whether a person is famous or not is an image, or maya(illusion). thus raja yogas from AL are very prominent.
