Guest guest
Namaste Dear Gurudeva Sanjay and Jyotish Gurus Please accept my late answer to Lesson 8, as I have been away for one week. Applicability of Vimsottari Dasa Birthtime: 11:42:06 am (1 DST) = 10:42:06 GMT, 17th September 1952 Birthplace: Birmingham, England. 1W50 52N30 Tithi: Krishna Chaturdasi Lagna: Libra 21:48:03 Since my birth is daytime during Krishna Paksha AND Rahu is in Trikona from Paka Lagna, the use of Ashtottari dasa is advised. However, for this assignment, Vimsottari dasa will be used. Determination of Starting Dasa 1. Lagna Nakshatra = Vishaka (Libra 21:48:03) 2. Janma Nakshatra = Magha (Leo 10:45:39) 3. Utpanna Nakshatra = Chitra (5th from Magha) Number of planets in kendra to the signs occupied by these constellations: 1. Libra (Vishaka) = 3 planets (Ra, Ke, Ju) 2. Leo (Magha) = 2 planets (Me, Ma) 3. Libra (Chitra) = 3 planets (Ra, Ke, Ju) Vishaka and Chitra are therefore the stronger Nakshatras. The Nakshatra Vishaka, however, receives a very strong aspect from Jupiter (at 27:41 Aries). Moreover, Jupiter rules Vishaka and thus this is an additional source of strength. The Lagna constellation (Vishaka) should therefore be used to determine the starting dasa, and its lord Jupiter will begin the first dasa at birth (see 1b below). 1b. Car Crash. About midnight on 11th December 1982 (a) This event is clearly seen in the Vimsottari Dasa from Lagna. The dasa/antardasa/pratyantardasa is Sa/Ra/Ma, a period of three great natural malefics. Saturn brings some loss and grief in this period, even though he is my yogakaraka planet. Saturn, lord of the 4th house of vehicles is in the 12th house of loss at 21:52 Virgo, almost identical in degrees with the sensitive lagna cusp (21:48 Libra). Saturn is closely conjoined with Venus (24:09) the karaka for conveyances and lord of the 8th house of calamities, in the 12th house, and the car was also not a foreign car. Rahu (28:11 in Capricorn) gives a 9th aspect to Venus and Saturn, while Mars, the significator for accidents, is also 'double maraka' lord of the 2nd and 7th, and aspected by Saturn. Mars is the nakshatra dispositors of both Rahu and Venus. Mars' nakshatra dispositor is Mercury, the 12th (and 9th) lord. The accident was quite serious, but fortunately I remained unhurt. I think perhaps Saturn, as yogakaraka and lord of the 5th, with Moon as his Nakshatra dispositor, spared my life, together with Saturn's conjunction with the lagna lord Venus and Jupiter's blessing by aspecting my ascendant. Saturn's dispositor, Mercury, is also conjoined with the Moon in the 11th. If we take the 4th level of Sookshma dasa, and assume that the birthtime is correct, then the period is Sa/Ra/Ma/Me on 6th December 1982 (Mercury is 12th and 9th lord) changing to Sa/Ra/Ma/Ke on 15 December. (b) From the Moon, the Vimsottari dasa period is Mo/Ra/Ma, and using the 4th level, Mo/Ra/Ma/Me or Mo/Ra/Ma/Ke. The only difference here is the mahadasa lord Moon instead of Saturn, so the effects of Ra and Ma are as above - i.e maraka Mars giving accidents and Rahu aspecting Venus as karaka for vehicles and 8th lord in the 12th. Why should this accident happen in the mahadasa of Moon? Firstly, Moon's dispositor Sun is in the 12th house, while Moon is conjoined the 12th lord Mercury, and Moon's nakshatra dispositor is Ketu. Because the mahadasa lord Moon is aspected by Jupiter, I remained unhurt in the crash. © Using the other dasa, the mahadasa lords are: 1. From Utpanna Star: Jupiter 2. From Kshema Star: Jupiter 3. From Adhana Star: Venus These are all natural benefics. However, Jupiter is a temporal malefic for Libra lagna, being lord of the 3rd and 6th (although no injury was sustained), with nakshatra lord Sun in the 12th. Venus is debilitated lagna lord in the 12th, signifying "loss of vehicles", with Mars (accidents) as nakshatra dispositor. So these mahadasa lords are also connected to the 12th house of loss. The fact that these dasa lords are the great benefic Jupiter and lagna lord Venus may explain why I was unhurt in this crash. Calculation of Antardasa lords using tables: Accident: 11 - 12 - 1982 1. Jupiter dasa: 23 - 1 - 1972 to 23 - 1 - 1988. Expired = 10 yrs, 10 m, 18 days giving Ju/Su 2. Jupiter dasa: 22 - 8 - 1979 to 22 - 8 - 1995. Expired = 3 yrs, 3 mths, 19 days giving Ju/Sa 3. Venus dasa: 17 - 5 - 1980 to 15 - 5 - 2000. Expired = 2 yrs, 6 mnths, 24 days giving Ve/Ve If we look at the second level, we see the influence of the Sun and Saturn as malefics in the 12th house of loss, in addition to Venus, the significator for vehicles, in the 12th house of loss. Since all of these dasas are meant to function simultaneously, we can clearly see the combinations for loss (12th house and 12th lord), grief and misery (Saturn), accidents (Mars and 8th lord), chaos (Rahu), and vehicles (4th lord and Venus). In addition, the saving grace of Jupiter is evident as being mahadasa lord (in two cases), and in aspecting the mahadasa lord Moon in Vimsottari dasa from the Moon. Since this email is getting quite long and it's late, I will send this now and complete the rest tomorrow.
