Jaya Jagannath

Dear Sat Siri,

Brilliant rendering no doubt. I liked the use of the sign

dispositor-Deha. That was very brilliant indeed (Sun deha for mercury...)

Just one point that should be checked. In any army, it is very important

that the soldiers " Do not exercise their heads and obey orders blindly " .

Thus Ketu (the headless one) represents the Army and is 'like Mars' their

Commander-in Chief. Rahu represents the ones " Who Only use their heads and

not their hearts and can represent the intelligence agencies, plotters,

thinkers etc and is like saturn their boss in inflicting sorrow.

With Best Wishes,

Sanjay Rath

[sri Guru] Lesson 7 Sayanadi Avasthas Q1

> Dear jyotisha,

> I am sorry for replying so late; my computer had to go through

> maintenance.

> Exercise 1: for Shri Sanjay Rath Sayanadi Avasthas and comments:

> Sun: Sabhaavasti: Drishti: Medium

> Sun is in jala tattva, representing boundarylessness, and is the

> chara bhratrikaraka. Thus moved by Lord Brahma's creative power chelas

> come from the four corners of the earth to Sanjay ji and gathering them

> in concerted efforts he gives through Sun in sabhaa avastha help,

> virtues, strength, affection, kindness and the keys to possess wealth,

> gems and lands. Sun's jiva is Mercury in Leo the royal sign and sign of

> the lord of Jyotish.

> Mer: Aagama avastha: Vichesta: Little result

> Mercury is in agni tattva, a fiery and spiritual sign, and is in

> the house of enemies. It is the sthira karaka of relatives so may

> suggest rivals or competitors, who are few or none. It shows how

> arguments are laid to rest through the peremptory power of Lord Shiva.

> Aagama or acquiring for Mercury is said to be serving mean people and

> acquiring money, and these qualities are emphatically opposed by

> Mercury's deha Sun taking it to the twelfth house from Mercury, which

> negates Mercury's power to do harm, as does the papakartari yoga of Sun

> and Mars and the rashi drishti of Saturn. Mercury's jiva is Venus in

> the fifth house, negating strife, making service enjoyable and dedicated

> to higher causes and mollifying opponents by the sweetness of wisdom.

> Ven: Prakashana: Vichesta

> Venus in jala tattva, chara Pitrikaraka, eighth and third lord

> in fifth, lord of houses of vitality, life and occult knowledge, gives a

> beautiful means of expression and wealth of wisdom, in the luminous

> state. While not exalted or in friendly rasi, Venus is in trine to its

> own exaltation sign Pisces and

> has argala on Pisces lagna, and so can provide some of the lustrous

> results ascribed to well-situated Venus in this avastha: conduct

> similar to a mighty elephant's, kingly, poetical, artistic and musical.

> Venus is a naturally shining planet and so partnering with Sun in fifth

> provides extra creative radiance and an interest in politics and the

> qualities of leaders. Venus's jiva is Saturn in the eleventh of

> sponsoring the improvement of a large mass of devotees.

> Saturn: Sayana: Chesta:

> Saturn is very strong and full of rays being retrograde but in Sayana

> attitude shows the masses upon whom the creativity must shine light.

> They start out lying down, asleep, unaware, hungry and thirsty,

> rajasic, full of cravings, painfully aware of their ignorance. And

> here is a teacher who identifies with them, for the Atmakaraka is this

> very Saturn. They begin to improve and take shape. They are in an

> upachaya house, improving, and becoming " wealthy later, " beyond their

> wildest dreams, for these results are maximum. Saturn's jiva is Mars,

> in the seventh house, satya peetham, and on the battleground of truth

> all results are tested.

> Mars: Sabhaa: Chesta

> Mars is in prithvi tattva in dwisvabhava sign, the sattvic commander of

> the army of dharmic contenders giving fully the results enumerated by

> Parashara: " a scholar in the court of kings, charitable, honorable,

> wealthy, charitable. " Yogakaraka, it brings the results for the

> commander and followers alike. Its tara dasha runs from Jan. 28 1998

> to Jan 28 2005.

> Since it is in the same tattva as the sign of its exaltation it takes

> on at least partly that potency: skilled at war, upholding dharma and

> successful. Mars's jiva is fifth lord Moon in the mokshasthana.

> Moon: Prakaashana: Chesta

> The Moon in Vayu tattva in sthira rasi, gives fully shining

> imagination, moon is not as strong as Mars so is not sthira karaka for

> mother and is free to be the mind emanating from the abode of Lord

> Shiva. Moon receives rasi drishti of the shining Venus and Sun which is

> lord of light. Moon in 12th represents most esoteric research and

> highest stages of learning. Moon earns fame, royal patronage, royal

> decorations, wealth, luxuries, visits to shrines, virtues and

> ornaments. Moon's jiva is exalted Rahu representing intelligent Mercury

> in the fourth house, contents of mind.

> Rahu: Prakaashana: Drishti (medium)

> Rahu is balanced in dwisvabhava, vayu tattva. It is thus poised and

> sattvic and has good guna having Jupiter as its nakshatra dispositor.

> It is dedicated to dharma and moksha and represents the army in the

> planetary cabinet. It shines back on the already brightly lit Moon and

> gives argala to it, again reflecting the numerous souls with which he is

> engaged in exploration of the depths of the mind.

> They have many miseries but they also find buried treasure. Rahu brings

> fame and prosperity through foreign contacts, the ability to be a light

> to mlecchas, charm and high position along with good deeds.

> Finally Ketu: Sayana: Drishti

> Ketu, the originator of Tara dashas, is recumbent in the

> midheaven, at its ease in the fiery tattva, an already incandescent

> infra-red presence full of spirit. In navamsa it partakes in Tapaswi

> yoga, and so all the effort is made on subtler planes while in outer

> appearance he is resting and relaxed and effortless. Ketu is balanced

> between activity and inertness although being in Sagittarius it will

> bring a tendency to replicate and multiply experience even like a xerox

> machine and to encounter ups and downs. Luckily Ketu is resting or it

> could become inflamed with the double Mars aspect. Ketu in drishti mode

> must give a kind of second sight, or third-eye sight, which can

> thread the needle of spiritual perception.
