Gomedhika is NOT only hessonite. It can come from any

one of the Garnet

family. Spessartite from the Garnet family is

preferable as its colour

ranges from orange to amber and NOT brown with

overtones of black which is

typical of a Hessonite Garnet. There are several types

of crystalisation of

the garnet group itself - pyrope (reddish brown),

almandine (red with violet

tinge), spessartite, grossular (green, yellow,

copper-brown), demantoid

(green) and uvarovite (green) and other rarer ones.

However, Garuna Purana stresses the point of Hardness

as one of the

identities of good gemstones being a forte.

Chrysoberyl -chemical

composition is Beryllium Aluminium Oxide is the next

hardest (8.5) after the

Corundum family (9). The colour range of the

Chrysoberyl is as described in

the Purana- Yellow, Honey, Red, Orange, light Green

etc., and this category

falls into the category of Vaidhurya - Ketu.

So accordingly, the hardest is Diamond, then the

Corundum family,

Chrysoberyl and then Beryl family etc.

Also, the 10th Lord is the strongest to give the

results of self employment,

so wearing the Red Coral is fine but round the middle

finger.

Venus is the weakest in this rasi and is afflicted by

the 2 natural

malefics. Mars too is 7th from AL in marana. He can

strengthen both Venus

and Mars as they are both lords of a Kendra and ruler

of a trikona. The Red

Coral can go in combination with a Diamond/s or with a

white sapphire and

this is more conducive to him in his chart,

considering that his 6th lord is

on the ascendant. This gemstone has the potency to

ward off kalasarpa etc.,

and should be worn round the neck.

As we are taught in the Parampara that one must never

prescribe a gemstone

for the 6th, let's stay on with that. [Another mistake

of yours :-)]

The Istha devata is Sri Varaha. Bhoga devata is the

6th from AmK in navamsa.

 

BTW if the 6th is stronger, shouldn't he be an

employee rather than being

self employed?
