Dear Sanjay P, Namaskar

In continuation of our discussion, i’ve come

across a problem with the precession theory.

See, if the precession is due to the gravitational

effect of the Sun and Moon on the earth, then wouldn’t the years get shorter

over a longer period of time? Infact since the Gregorian Calendar Reform

Commitee in 1582, the measurement of equinoxes and other phenomena is not

changing in days of the calender, but only in their position to the stars in

space!

If we are truly vedic astrologers,

then we should be accepting the fact that the Sun is itself orbiting dhruva

loka, and if so this should be affecting the precession.

This is confirmed by a theory called the Binary Theory

of Precession, which The Binary Research Institute (http://www.binaryresearchinstitute.org/introduction/binary.shtml

) has been developing. A very thorough article supporting this theory (in a not

too technical way) is given here: http://www.binaryresearchinstitute.org/papers/research.shtml

To make this theory easy, i have taken the below example

compared to our own Moon:

The Moon moves round the earth in

27,3 days. But because the earth is orbiting the sun at the same time, the

synodic month (time between full moons) happens in 29,5 days, i.e. off by 2.2

days.

Similarly the Earth is orbiting the

Sun in 360 degrees, but the earths position relative to the fixed stars is off

by 50 arc seconds each year (almost 1 day per year). This is easy to understand

when we compare with the Moon, and doesn’t require any equations for

gravitational pull!

Now a big problem is that the precession seems to be

moving faster over the last 100 years. Again we can take the moon as an example

for comparisen:

The Moon moves around the earth in

an ellipse like motion, i.e. not perfectly round. Thus making it fast after

reaching its furthest apsis of the ellipse point and slow after reaching its

closest apsis.

Similarly the Sun could have reached

its furthest distance from dhruva some time in the past, and is now moving very

fast due to this.

The binary theory presents, in the articles on their

website, that some thousands of years ago the precession could have been much

much slower because of this. The actual numbers are given in their comparisen article.

I think we should concentrate our focus in this line,

and with it, we are forced to view the entire universe through the Sisumara

chakra. Without this understanding, any correction to the ayanamsa is merely an

estimate which will be outdated within the next ten years.

Best wishes,
