Guest guest
Jaya Jagannatha Dear Partha, Sarbani, Raman Suprajarama et al, Namaste Can you please draw up a prsna and see if indications are positive or otherwise. Yesterday, I was approached by a German master craftsman to retrieve his machinery and bring them to the farm in a partnership to work on low grade gemstones – beads, cabochon, crystal eggs and lamps etc. the initial talk yesterday entailed $31,000. Today, after talking and looking at the machinery etc., it is amounting to +$50,000 of his debts incurred, that we have to defray. According to him, we might be able to get away with paying out +/- $25,000. He says that his equipment is worth $180,000. I took a good friend of mine along who is an engineer specialized in industrial machines, to give me an estimate of the machines. So far, it is worth not more than $40,000 but we have yet to look at another small lot…….. The tumbled material can do 800kg per day; Beads 40,000/month etc. I have some questions: 1. Will this partnership work out? 2. When do you think I will be able to recover my initial investment? 3. Will there be a heavy capital outlay for materials needed to begin work? 4. He says that there is a ready market in Germany. I am not certain of that. But certainly, there is, in Hong Kong and the USA. Will there BE a ready market? 5. Profitability? 6. What type of partnership? As it will be my first time handling this type of market. I am used to handling only superfine materials. Thank you for your time. Love, Swee p/s Inputs from all other members are welcome.
