Guest guest
Pranaam Sanjay & fellow Jyotishis, I know Gurudev is vacationing for the month of August, so if any members of the group know the answer to the following question I would appreciate help. In Lesson #10, in the calculation of Moola dasa for Sri Rama's chart, Sanjay gives the sequence as Jupiter, Moon, Mars, Saturn, Sun, etc. In following rules of strength, I'm having difficulty with Mars following the Moon. I understand the sequence of Jupiter and Moon. Next the decision is to be based on Sun, Mars and Saturn, as they are in Kendras. All three are in signs with an equal number of planets, are exalted and in chara rasis, so of equal strength based on this. Mars and Saturn are both aspected by Mercury, so the tie is between these two. The final decision, then, has to be based on degrees of these two planets and I'm assuming this was Sanjay's reasoning. Degrees are not given and I don't have chart data for Sri Rama! Is my reasoning correct? Best Regards, Brendan
Guest guest
Dear Brendan, I am accessing this from outside. Very correct. There is another rule which asks us to look for the placement of the lord of an odd sign in an even sign and vice versa. in this case, Capricorn is even and its Lord is in an odd sign while Libra is odd and its Lord is placed in an even sign. So, both are again equal in strength. Sometimes we have to make intelligent guesses when the degrees are not available. I based my reasoning on the War at Lanka where the Martian forces under Hanumanji (Mars is Lord of Arudha lagna)proved to be stronger than the Demoniacal Saturnine forces of Ravan (Saturn is Lord of the Satrupada). Thus Mars must be stronger than Saturn, else Bhagavan sri Rama would not have won the battle!! Jaya Jagannath I am happy to see Gauranga and all of you doing so well. I will get in touch after a week or two more. Best Wishes for Janmastami. Recite the Guru Mantra (Hare Rama Krishna) throughout the day till you go to bed.
