Guest guest
JAYA JAGANNATH Dear Jyotisha, I am yet to receive an answer on this. Anyway I won't wait anymore. The 12th house from the Atmakaraka tells us WHAT THE AK GIVES. Thus, this is the house of Moksha. Similarly, having established Brahma in Movable signs, Shiva in fixed signs and Vishnu in Dual signs, and the periods of Longevity that they will give will be seen from the 12th from where they are. Thus Brahma donates 9 years (9 Naisargika Karaka) to the signs in the 12th from Movable signs or the Dual signs have a longevity of 9 years. Similarly, Shiva donates 7 years (7 Sthira Karaka) to the 12th from Fixed signs or Movable signs have a longevity component of 7 years and similarly, due to the eight Chara Karaka Vishnu donates 8 years to the fixed signs in His 12th house. The net result is 7 years for Movable, 8 years for fixed , and 9 years for movable signs. Hare Krishna Sanjay Rath JAYA JAGANNATH Dear Narasimha, This is an exceedingly brilliant reasoning. Now, I will pose another few questions/points: 1. We are reborn because of our own desires and unfinished karma. Thus in any scheme, the Karmic Control planets viz. Rahu and Ketu must find a place. This entire material creation which we call Brahmanda is created by Brahma and is represented by the signs, divisions and the Navagraha (nine planets) in the form of Naisargika Karaka or significatyors of Nature. Thus, Brahma must be associated with the Nine planets. 2. I had also stated that Sthira karaka (Seven Planets) are associated with death and Shiva. We also know that Shivattatwa is seen in the fixed signs. 3. By exclusion the Chara Karaka (eight Graha excluding Ketu) must be associated with Vishnutatwa and is responsible for our Moksha, Pala and Guru etc. 4. Your allotment of planetary periods for 7 years to chara, 8 to Sthira and 9 to Dwisbhava is also very correct. 5. The question is HOW TO RECONSILE THESE TWO SEEMINGLY DIVERGEANT NUMBERS IN EACH SIGN? Clue: The first jyotish lesson I teach at SJVC on Mahavishnu and the Atma. Hare Krishna Sanjay Rath - Narasimha Rao varahamihira Friday, October 01, 1999 7:24 AM More on Karakas Question Pranaam Sanjay, I don't know if my question is correctly understood. I will try again. The Brilliance of Narasimha is again showing. I am really proud of him. Please read the Actually I merely remembered what you said earlier and pointed out an apparent inconsistency. You wrote a week back: FOOD (Mahaprasad) FOR THOUGHT What are the implications of this lordship and Charakaraka? What can you think. 2. There are three types of Significators. These are Naisargika (Natural) Karaka of the nine Graha; the Chara (Temporal) Karaka of the 8 Graha (excluding Ketu) and the Sthira (Fixed) karaka of the 7 Graha (Excluding Rahu & Ketu). Does this strike a bell? Is there a " SERIES " involved in the thinking of Maharishi Parasara? IN ANY CASE TRY TO THINK ABOUT THE PRINCIPLE INVOLVED. Why were the exclusions done? 3. There are certain Dasa which use fixed periods of 7, 8 & 9 Years for the three types of signs. Can this " SERIES " be the basis? When I read question 3 above, I naturally thought the following: Chara rasis (Brahma) have 7 years in sthira dasa, sthira rasis (Shiva) have 8 years, and dwiswabhava rasis (Vishnu) have 9 years. These are the " natural " years associated with these 3 kinds of signs and they are used in sthira dasa, mandooka dasa etc. You were suggesting to link these with karakas. How? Let us see. Sthira karakas are used to see the birth and death of relatives (with physical bodies). Since they signify entities with physical bodies, Brahma (who creates them) is not entirely inappropriate. So sthira karakas relate to chara rasis (Brahma) in nature and so chara rasis get 7 years - one per each sthira karaka who manifests Brahma's lila of creation of living beings. Chara karakas show suffering and purification. For example, chara atma karaka shows suffering and resultant purification of soul. Suffering and purification clearly falls under the jurisdiction of Shiva. He gives suffering, but purifies. So chara karakas relate to sthira rasis (Shiva) in nature and so sthira raiss get 8 years - one per each chara karaka who manifests Shiva's lila of punishment and purification. Naisargika karakas are important in phalita jyotisha. They show all kinds of results experienced during the course of one's life. This clearly falls under the jurisdiction of Vishnu - The Sustainer of the Trinity. So naisargika karakas relate to dwiswabhava rasis (Vishnu) in nature and so dwiswabhava raiss get 9 years - one per each naisargika karaka who manifests Vishnu's lila of sustenance of life. The above made good sense to me when I thought of it. It matches the dasa years 7, 8, 9 allotted to various signs (and Gods) to the 3 types of karakas. The numbers match and I think the natures also match. However, you said something contrary to it in a later post: NAISARGIKA KARAKA The naisargika Karaka are the natural significators and are used in Phalita Jyotisha. Hence all the nine are used. They represent all creatures and bodies by the interactions of the signs, their divisions and the nine planets. Since they are a part and parcel of the creation of Brahma, they are also analogous to the Movable signs. After reading this, I wondered how you proposed to match 7, 8, 9 years with 7, 8, 9 karakas. You are mapping naisargika karakas (9) to movable rasis/Brahma (7 years). The mapping is lost. On the other hand, if we associate the seven sthira karakas (and not the nine naisargika karakas as you did above) with Brahma, the mapping will be right (one year per karaka). It also make sense because sthira karakas stand for relatives (physical bodies!) created by Brahma. If we associate the nine naisargika karakas to Vishnu (and not to Brahma as you did above), mapping becomes right (9 to 9). Also, it will make sense because naisargika karakas show all kinds of phalita in life and Vishnu is appropriate. Can you please clarify why you mapped naisargika karakas to Brahma/movable signs instead of Vishnu/dual signs? What is wrong in my thinking given in the table above? Guest guest
Dear Sanjay, > I am yet to receive an answer on this. Anyway I won't wait anymore. The > 12th house from the Atmakaraka tells us WHAT THE AK GIVES. Thus, this is the I noticed that the two sequences were just shifted by one, but could not make further progress. I actually thought that a sign gives sthira dasa years based on the 8th from it because 8th is the house of longevity. I thought whether Brahma, Vishnu or Shiva rules the 8th from a sign decides whether the sign gives 9, 8 or 7 years. My consideration of 8th house was motivated by the fact that these years belong to sthira dasa, an ayur dasa. Thus chara rasis give 7 years becasue the 8th from them (a sthira rasi) is ruled by Shiva with 7 sthira karakas. Sthira rasis give 8 years because the 8th from them (a dwiswabhava rasi) is ruled by Vishnu with 8 chara karakas. Dwiswabhava rasis give 9 years because the 8th from them (a chara rasi) is ruled by Brahma with 9 naisargika karakas. I wanted to give it more thought and submit. But what you say also makes excellent sense. Thank you for the valuable lesson! BTW, let me ask a question based on your statement about the 12th from atma karaka. What will the 12th house from dara karaka give? What will the 12th house from amatya karaka give? What will the 12th house from jnati karaka give? Thank you very much for the clarification! May Jupiter's light shine on us, Narasimha
Guest guest
Dear Narasimha, My reply is under your excellent question. Your thinking was very correct in the sence that we were studying longevity. However, the principle is that this Human birth is very hard to get and it is the GIFT of the Trimurti. Hence we should worship them with the mantra A-U-M. Like the 12th from AK gives Moksha to self, the 12th from DK gives Moksha for wife. In this manner we can worship the Ista Devata of parents (as indicateds in our charts for their benefit). However, this has not been advised by the Maharishi's who have advocated the worship of the Ista Devata and leave everything to Him.
