Excellent lesson, Sarat!

Sanjay is a good example. Sanjay's atmakaraka is Saturn. In

navamsa, 12th from Saturn has Mercury. No wonder his ishta devata

is Jagannatha.

However, we have to be a little creative w.r.t. the list of gods.

I have seen some people who are very religious and whose ishta

devata is Sai Baba (who they consider as a god). Jupiter was in

the 12th from atmakaraka in their navamsa.

My father has exalted Moon in a trine from Mercury determining

his ishta devata. He is not really a worshipper of Gauri. His

philosophy is " Krishnam Vande Jagadgurum " .

Ramakrishna Paramahansa's 12th from AK in navamsa was unoccupied

and aspected by Sun and Venus. It resulted in a female Saiva

Goddsess, Mother Kali.

In my chart, AK Moon is in Gemini in navamsa. Taurus is

unoccupied. Sun aspects it and denotes Shiva. However, lord of

Taurus is Venus and he is in Gemini with AK and aspected by

Jupiter in Sg. He is more powerful than Sun. So he ended up

deciding my ishta devata instead of Sun. Venus stands for

Lakshmi.

Until I was 24, I wasn't a devotee of Lakshmi. In January 94, I

suddenly got an inspiration and decided to read Lakshmi's 108

names 108 times on Fridays for a year. After one year, I decided

that I would do it for my whole life. I was blessed with a

daughter after exactly 108 weeks of this pooja. This particular

pooja showed direction to my soul and now I am in the right

direction. Though I started this pooja impulsively, it played a

big role in my life. So Venus on a powerful axis gave me the

result and not Sun, as suggested by the above rules.

Rules are useful, but they don't always work. We should be

creative.

May Jupiter's light shine on us,

Narasimha
