I was asked this question and I could answer > only that " because my Guru said so " . So I accept it, but is > there any explanation for tis being the most accurate one? The only true test is that divisional charts should give good results consistently. If we change ayanamsa, divisional charts change. I never got consistent results from lower level divisional charts with Raman ayanamsa or other ayanamsa. Lahiri ayanamsa seems to result in meaningful divisional charts. For example, look at Sanjay's D-24 (chart of learning). Jupiter shows traditional learning. With Raman ayanamsa, Jupiter is in Taurus - a Venusian sign. Jupiter in Pisces (with Lahiri) describes best the Sanjay I know. Like this, we can compare divisional charts with different ayanamsas and see which one makes the best sense. May Jupiter's light shine on us, Narasimha PS: I am sure even Lahiri ayanamsa has an error. It is more accurate than others, but it has atleast a few arc-minutes of error.
