Guest guest
Namaste Gauranga, > We haven't been so active lately. Does anyone know when will Sanjay > Prabhu be back? As per the original plan, he should leave Denver on Nov 25th/26th and come back to Delhi on Nov 27th. BTW, as of now, Sanjay has no access to the internet and that's why you haven't heard from him. > Meanwhile I have a question that You may know. What are the exaltation > places and degrees for Rahu and Ketu. Do they have Moola-trikona positions > as well? Could You give me any clue as to how will they behave when exalted > or debilitated. Why don't we calculate Shad Bala for them? How should we > estimate their strength and influence? Rahu is functionally exalted in Gemini and Ketu in Sagittarius. Debilitation occurs in oppisite signs. There are secondary exaltation and debilitation signs (Taurus and Scorpio) which are more popular. Moolatrikonas of Rahu and Ketu are Virgo and Pisces respectively. (However, these are not used in Moola dasa.) [Note: I am teaching here what Sanjay teaches. Most BPHS translations of today disagree with the above.] * * * Rahu and Ketu in Ge and Sg (exalted) give spiritual growth. Especially when in quadrants, they can make one a saint. Rahu and Ketu and Sg and Ge (debilitated) can give materialism and make one materially successful. These exaltation and debilitation signs (Ge and Sg) relate to the functionality of Rahu and Ketu. The other set (Ta and Sc) relates to their basic nature. Rahu in Ta (exalted) gives troubles when in a quadrant (being an exalted natural malefic). Rahu in Sc gives happiness and success when in a quadrant (being a debilitated natural malefic). * * * Sometime back, I gave an analogy: Own sign: One's house (comfortable) Moolatrikona: One's office (duty) Exaltation: One's favorite picnic spot (exciting) Rahu is comfortable giving material gains and Ketu is comfortable giving occult knowledge. Those are their natural inclinations. So Rahu owns 11th sign (Aq) and Ketu owns 8th sign (Sc). In addition, Rahu is excited to do some creative work and Ketu with religious and dharmik work. So their exaltation signs are 3rd sign (Ge) and 9th sign (Sg). But the official duty assigned to Rahu is fights, arguments, accidents etc and the official duty assigned to Ketu is moksha (liberation/emancipation). So their moolatrikonas are 6th sign (Vi) and 12th sign (Pi). Hope this explanation makes some sense. > Yours, Gauranga das May Jupiter's light shine on us, Narasimha
