Here is an exercise to those who followed Sudasa

lessons. This chart belongs to

a political leader. Don't try to guess who the native is. Just find

Sudasa and

give your guess of when the greatest rise in his political career came.

Use GL

and 7th from it in rasi chart. Don't use divisional charts or other

techniques.

Give your assessment just based on rasi chart and Sudasa.

Lagna: Around 7 deg in Sc

GL: At the end of Sagittarius

SL: At the start of Taurus

Only Rajesh tried and he miscalculated dasas. Having waited enough, I will

give the answer now. Refer to Rajesh's calculations of Sree Lagna. It is

at 2 deg in Taurus. Dasas are as follows.

First dasa is 9 years, but dasa sesham is only 8 yr+. Here are calculations

for reference. Based on your ayanamsa and Moon's longitude, your calculations

may be shifted.

CONCLUSION: Since GL (ghati lagna) is in Sg, Sg dasa can bring political

power during Apr 1974-Apr 1984. (Please recall my article about power in

the Sudasa of GL or 7th from GL.)

ANSWER: This is partly true, but this period doesn't capture his period

of power quite well.

RECONSIDERATION:

Because SL (Sree Lagna) is at 2 deg in Taurus with the reported birthtime

of 2:04, it can go to Ar with a slight change in birthtime. Considering

that the birth year was1911 and the birth happened late in night, we cannot

even rule out large errors.

The native is known to consult astrologers and perhaps 2:04 is the time

rectified by some western astrologers. We, Vedic astrologers, can perhaps

do a better job.

By moving the birthtime backward by a few minutes, we can get SL into

Aries. This takes D-10 lagna from Vi to Le. Dasamsa lagna of Leo explains

the native's posture in public life better. Venus in own sign in the 10th

from Leo in D-10 explains his acting career better (yes, he was an actor

before he became a political leader).

With this birthtime change, GL in D-10 changes from Vi to Cn. GL in

Cn makes excellent sense. Lord of GL Moon in a Venusian sign suggests fame

as an actor. Exalted Sun in the 10th from GL in D-10 explains political

success. Strong Sun in 1st, 5th, 7th or 10th from GL in D-10 gives political

power. You may recall that I explained Dr. Murli Manohar Joshi's political

success based on Sun in the 10th from GL in D-10.

CONCLUSION: Still Sg contains GL (in rasi chart) and its dasa is still

the best candidate. Though dasas have changed significantly, Sg dasa comes

more or less at the same time. It now comes during 1977-1987.

ANSWER: This period coincides reasonably well with the period of native's

political power.

In case you haven't figured it yet, here's the answer.

The chart belongs to Ronald Reagan. He became the President of world's

most powerful democracy at the end of 1980 (3 years after the Sudasa of

power started) and remained president for 8 years. His power dasa ended

one year before his second term ended. This rectified time sounds more

logical to me.

Sudasa really demonstrates the power of specific rasi dasas with a narrow

focus. Sudasa had been hidden in a few families until Sanjay revealed it

in his books. There is a good reason for the secrecy though. Such powerful

techniques can be misused. Use this dasa judiciously and conscientiously.
