Dhira Krsna Prabhu has nicely clarified his position to me in private and

all is well. Regarding the point above let us examine just one nakshtra to

illustrate the principle of how the nature of the Devata who rules the

Nakshtra imbues it with its meaning. For this let us take Bharani which

falls in the Rasi Mesha (Aries). According to the scheme of Vimshottari

mahadasa Bharani is ruled by Shukra who also rules Purvaphalguni and

Purvasadha. Followers of Krishna Murti Paddhati, and other writers actually

say that Aries gets some of its qualities from Venus because it supposedly

rules Bharani in the assigned rulerships of Vimshottari Dasha. This however

is not so.

If you examine any decent text on Muhurta, Bharani is considered very

baneful. How could this be? Why should a nakshatra ruled by the great

natural benefic Venus be considered so evil. It all becomes clear when we

discover who the real ruling devata of Bharani is: none other than Yamaraja

Lord of Death. Yes it is true that the nakshatra adds it essence to give the

meaning of the Rasi that it constitutes but while Venus as ruler of Bharani

is ludicrous in adding to the meaning of Aries, Yamaraja is just perfect.

Mesha is a powerful warlike sign a killer and destroyer of his foes thus for

Yamaraja to add to this mix is just perfect.
