Guest guest
Dear Gurudev,My respecful obeisances. Jaya Jagannath! I reread whatever you also gave in COVA and UPSJ regarding children and felt really gloomy - there are so many things to keep in mind. Anyway let me try with whatever intelligence Krishna gives. By Krishna's grace I got one son. Also just recently my sister-in-law separated from her husband and took shelter of our family (parents did not accept her back). It is a permanent arrangment as she is neither going to divorce nor go back to her husband. The little girl calls me father, I started doing all the samskaras for her etc. So she has practically speaking become my adopted daughter. First, the charts - mine and my kids'. Analisys follows. The fifth house, its lord, planets posited and aspecting it and Guru, the Putrakaraka are to be examined as per canons on this subject (Details have been summarized by Dr. B.V. Raman in “How to judge a Horoscope” or ‘Crux of Vedic Astrology’ by S.Rath.) The 5th lord Mars in the 4th aspected by the Moon and with papakartari-yoga is not so bad but toes not give many children. Debilitated Saturn with Neecha-bhanga in the 5th house confirms the same and gives delay and possibiity of adoption. It is aspected by Jupiter Jupiter is average being placed in the 11th (Libra) and aspected by Mars and Saturn. This indicates some slight Brahmin curse from the past life which also gave delay in childbirth. But it is in the movable sign and the curse was removed. I was never in a hurry with children - and after thourough discussion with my wife's spiritual master whom I also treat as my siksa-guru and getting his instructions and blessings we immediately begot our son. So this was the remedial measure. Rahu is PK and is placed in it's own sign which is also good. A5 is Aquarius with Rahu in it and aspectes by debilitated Saturn and Jupiter. This gives upto 3 children - two male and one female. This also indicates adoption. 5ths lord Mars gains 2 Navamsas - 2 children. Makes sense as we are not planning on having any more children. Question: I am not clear about how to count amsas gained by the 5th lord. I just extrapolated from your examples that it should be the number of 1/9 divison of the sign where it is situated minus 1. Is that correct? 4.1 For a male nativity, the first child is determined by the lord of the 5th house from Saptamsa Lagna, whereas for a female nativity, the first child is determined from the lord of the 9th house from Saptamsa Lagna. It is interesting as in the COVA and UPSJ it is counted w.r.t. the sex of the rising Saptamsa. In my case it is Capricorn, so I should be considered a 'female nativity' - count in reverse order. 7th lord Moon is with Rahu which also confirms the limit of 2 children. Question. Does the sex (oddity) of the Saptamsa lagna manifest in some way in the native. For instance, should it be said that as a parent I have more a motherly disposition or what are the real-life inplications? 4.SEX DETERMINATION There are certain simple rules that govern the sex determination of the children. 4.3 A male child is predicted, if the lord of the child is, (a) placed in an odd sign or, Cancer or Pisces OR (b) exalted or conjoins exalted planets, or © conjunct the Sun, Jupiter, Mars or Rahu (considered male planets). 4.4 A female child is predicted, if the lord of the child is, (a) placed in an even sign, Gemini or Aquarius, OR (b) debilitated or conjoins debilitated planets, or © conjunct the Moon, Venus, Mercury, Ketu (Considered feminine planets) or Saturn (Napumsaka also) Son - 9th lord Mercury is in Aries. Odd sign. Confirmed. Daughter - 7th lord Moon is in Gemini, with Saturn andexalted Rahu. The two female factors dominate - so it is confirmed. Presence of Saturn in Mercurial sign also indicates the adopted child. 4.5 The sign occupied by the 5th, 7th etc Lords should be treated as the Lagna of individual children. Take the lord as the Lagna of specific children and predict fortune as per dasa’s. Son. 9th lord Mercury is in Aries. Jupiter with exalted Ketu is in the 9th Saggitarius. Exalted Sun with Venus in the 7th in Libra. Mars in Scorpio in the 8th. Saturn is with Rahu and Moon in the 3rd. All these things nicely correspond to his birth chart and my real life experience with him. 10th house Libra with it's lord Venus. Mercury has neither conjunction or association with them. Upapada is Gemini and the 2nd from it Cancer is a benefic sign though only aspected by Mars (rasi-dristi) - not that bad, taing into account the 7th house and the general strength of the chart. The child lord is in the 4th from my Saptamsa Lagna thus giving happiness and in the 11th from Saptamsa Lagnesh governing my ambitions. Daughter. 7th lord Moon is in Gemini with Rahu and Saturn. This could be bad giving some mental derangment. But here Rahu is exalted and the combination is aspected by Jupiter and Ketu from the 7th Sagittaius. Lagna lord Mercury is also not so bad. So here Lord Siva must pacify and control the fierce nature of his consort. Rahu and Saturn are co-lords of the 9th in Lagna which is very good. The same combination gives her two fathers of different natures. Jupiter suffers somewhat which makes her somewhat things-oriented and simple-minded but religious and motherly-type. This brought Krishna in her lagna in her real chart (exalted Moon in Lagna). Mars in it's own house in the 6th (Scorpio) which gives her strong connection with maternal relatives. Upapada is in Pisces and the 2nd from it is with Mercury aspected by Mars. Combining with the 7th house factor - generally good for marriage. Not so many children. Moon has nothing to do with both 10th and 10th lord. Good correlation with her actual birth chart. the child lord conjoins Saptamsa Lagnesh in the 6th from the Saptamsa Lagna which indicates the voluntary austerity of adopting the child and harmony on the other hand. Question: How to predict fortune as per dasa's? As per which dasas/subdasas we should predict. Generally we judge Dasa-antar-pratyantar w.r.t. Sun-Moon-Lagna. Here one cannot mechanically extend the same scheme. Can you please help. 4.6 Timing the birth of Children (a) Birth, of children takes place during the dasa of planets having Argala on Saptamsa Lagnesh. (b) Individual children are predicted during the antardasa of the lord of the child, its depositor or the lords of the 3rd/8th from the Lagna (as mentioned earlier). In case of a conflict between the indications of the saptamsa of expectant father and mother, the results should be predicted from the male horoscope(This rule has also been proved by genetics wherein it is an established fact that the sex chromosomes are only determined by the male) © Generally, a male child is born in six Rasi comprising the kendra/kona from Janma Rasi of saptamsa of father, i.e. the Janma Rasi of the son is the 1st, 4th, 5th, 7th, 9th or 10th from saptamsa Rasi of the father. (d) Generally, a female child is born in the remaining six Rasi i.e. 2nd, 3rd, 6th, 8th, 11th, or 12th from the saptamsa moon of the father. Son: Rahu/Moon/Ketu. Rahu conjoins Saptamsa Lagnesh giving the dasa. In COVA you give 7th, 12th and trines from the pregnancy lord while in your article you give pregnancy 3rd and 8th and dispositor - for determining antardasas. If my understanding is correct then 3rd house pushes the child out of the womb and 8th indicated troubles of the birth. In my son's case Moon is in the 3rd - confirmed. Question. What is the meaning behind 7th, 12th and trines and why you don't mentione them in this article? Question. You write that pratyantardasa planet should mormally be in trines to the saptamsa lagna which is not the case here. Ketu is in the 12th. What is the rationale behind this rule? Moon is Gemini in my D-7. My son's Janma Rasi is Sagittarious - confirmed. I adopted my daughter in my Rahu/Mars/Sun. Rahu gives the dasa. Question. I don't see any relationship between Mars in Scorpio with the child lord Moon in Gemini as per the above rules. It only casts an aspect on the Moon. Is that enough? Question. Sun in LIbra again is not in trines to the saptamsa lagna (Capricorn). Why? My daughter's Janma Rasi is Taurus - in the 12th from my D-7 Moon - confirmed.
