Dear Lakshmi,

As your very subject line states " Narasimha Chaturdasi is the appearance day of

Lord Narasimha Deva " .

Indeed, Lord Narasimha was born from the " stambha-antara-udita " meaning he was

born from the pillars on this very tithi, to protect his very dear devotee

Prahlada, & also to give a proof that God exists.

Hiranyakashipu, the mighty demon, father of Shree Prahlada, & brother of

" Hiranyaksha " asked for boons from Lord Brahma that he be killed by no man or

any animal, neither during day or during night, neither in land or water, & not

through any weapon.

Lord Narasimha is said to have killed Hiranyakashipu on his lap, in the

twilight, & in the junction of two tithis, " Chaturdashi " & " Pournomasi " (his

appearance being on the former tithi!!)--Narasimha is half-man & half animal &

killed Hiranyakashipu with his sharp nails.

I hope this is what you were looking for.

Thank you,

.
