Guest guest Posted October 19, 2005 Report Share Posted October 19, 2005 Dear Narasimha Regarding the rarity of the change from Pisces to Aries, that is certainly rare, once in two and a half years the Sun gets into position where there is the likelihood of a blue moon - ie two full moons in the same sign because the first is at zero degrees as on 17th October. I guess there must be a one in four chance of being in a gandanta position as well, so once in 10 years it is statistically possible at the lunar eclipse. Of course the 'blue' moon is commonly taken to mean two full moons in the same calendar month. But if you look over approx. 6 months you will find a totally extraordinary series of 7 full moons at zero or 30 degrees, including of course Makara Sankranti, with 2 full moons in Aries, no exact full moon in Gemini and again two full moons in Virgo with the Sun in that gandanta position twice in Scorpio and Pisces and the moon twice in Pisces and Cancer. As there are 7 full moons in this series of 0/30 degrees area, the final one will have the Sun in Gandanta of Pisces (but not at lunar eclipse) where it all started on 17th October. When we would expect a lunar eclipse in March/April next year there is none, just the total solar eclipse on 29th March in the centre of Pisces. I think this whole event may be unique. There is some major change happening, which will affect the masses. What does anyone know about the effect of full moons? It should be a very rare thing. In the case of solar eclipses, it is a rare thing indeed. The last one was a move into Aries on 7th April 1568. The next one will be a move into Leo on 22nd August 2370. (The sun doesn’t move into a new rasi during an eclipse very often at all….they seem to be clustered in particular centuries, and we’re in the middle of a drought). Lunar eclipses during Lunar gandantha is more common. We’ve had 6 in the last century. The next one will be a move into Aries on 15 June 2011.
