I will base my answer on the question that you asked but as in all cases in astrology, general principles can be very misguiding without a complete analysis. I will try to make this clear in my answer. The 2nd house is ruled by Vishnu the sustainer and it is an Artha Trikona. The significator is Jupiter, so the 2nd from Jupiter should also be examined for wealth and its sustenance. The 2nd house shows one attitude about wealth and how much wealth can be accumulated, so the placement of the 2nd lord has a great deal to do with one's attitude towards money as well as the source of wealth. In general the association of the second lord with other Arthasthanas is good for the second as it promotes wealth but again this has to be qualified. The position from the lagna predominates in all cases. However, many other factors must be evaluated to make a final judgement on wealth (AL, HL, GL, etc.) Placement of 2nd lord in Kendras and Trikonas from lagna is excellent for the 2nd house and will promote its affairs for the native. Placement of 2nd lord in Trik houses (6, 8 and 12): In 6th, an Arthasthana, native will work hard for his money and making money will be important to him and may come easy to him (5th from 2nd). However, it is the 6th house from lagna, and the lord placed here aspects the 12th (can promote losses and expenditures) and it can mean that money may come from some type of competition and there may be legal problems associated with his money making. Placed in the 8th is always good as it aspects its own house and brings money through other people (partner, 7th from 2nd), especially associated with death like experiences - sudden gains such as inheritance, insurance, lottery, etc. Placed in 12th is not good and give daridra yoga. Can cause heavy spending and losses and an incapacity to make good financial judgements. If the lord of 2nd is strongly placed and good dhana yogas are involved, it can lead to gains from travel, foreign trade, hospitals, jails. If malefics are involved, can lead to criminal sources of wealth. Hope this answers your question!
