Lesson 6 Hora

Namaste,

 

1. My birthdata is: June 27, 1939, 11.24.56 AM, 73W56, 40N38. Day of

birth Tues. Hora of birth is Saturn. Sa is L6 & 7 in 9 aspected by and

giving aspct to its dispositor Mars Ex in 6,. It is a lord of an

angle in exchange of houses with Mars, a lord of an angle and trine.

It is conjunct Ke co lord of 4. It gives to and receive aspect from

Moon in 3 conjoined with Ra, co-lord of 7. Overall, I would say the

dominant theme in my life has been to experience moksha: experiencing

One without a Second as All-in-All. Saturns aspect on Sun, the lagna

lord, in 11 might contribute to this, although my taste for sweets

suggests that Jupiter's aspect on Mercury, the dispositor of the

Lagna lord, in the 12th, has more influence. Saturn in 9 might have

contributed to my receiving spiritual initiation (3d house) from a

teacher representing Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, a world teacher

(Saturn's influence as planet of masses. I have definitely

experienced and continue to experience Saturnian delays in my ability

to fulfill desires/ pass tests, perform tasks (6th house, house of

tests, distractions, enemies); also, I have acquired substantial

debts through student loans (6th house=debts, South Indian view: 4th

house lord of schooling is in 6). Saturn gets neechbanga ,

cancellation of debility, due to aspect by its exalted dispositor and

also its being in an angle from benefic moon. Hence, it has power for

auspciousness and overall I tend to experience that Saturn does

deliver 9th house dharma to 6th, 7th, Lagna, 4th and 5th house

affairs.

2. Project or report about work This project will be begun during

hora of Venus, L 10 (profession, status, work) and 3 (short writings)

at 7 am this Sunday (Sun, L1 Wholeness/Self in 11 gains/routinization

of gains)..

3. Swearing-in time for President Clinto: 1993 and 1997

4. Write book, teach jyotish. Have already written several books,

some of which might still be published, and I continue to write books

and stories.: Jupiter L5 & 8 in 8, aspecting Lagna dispositor L11 & 2 in

12 suggests the possibility and the themes: playful stories about

spirituality. The current dasha suggests the possibility of

publishing short stories: Venus L3 & 10 in 10. The current sub-dasha

suggests the same: Ra in 3. The current sub-sub dasha suggests longer

works might be possible: Saturn in 9.

Teaching Jyotish is possible due to Jupiter L8 in 8 (hidden

knowledge, for example, jyotish), aspecting Lagna Lord dispositor,

Mercury L11 & 2, in 12. The 11th house placement of lagna lord Sun

suggests my concern to teach others not only what I learn but also to

teach others how to teach. (I think of the 11th house, in a

person's

evolution, as the house in which they learn to step back from the

flashy forefront and learn to train successors). The appropriate hora

would be that of Jupiter. Although analytically I might think that

the Jupiter Hora on Mercury's Wednesday would be good because

Mercury

disposits lagna lord and because it does so in the service of Vishnu,

its devata, my analysis is replaced by a strong intution to choose

Jupiter's Hora on Jupiter's day. Perhaps this because

Thursday is

traditionally the day of the Guru and it involves my heart more in

the process of offering the gift of students to my own Guru.

Link to Bhava. If this means, link to the Bhava, yes, it is the hora

of the lord of the bhava who is also in the bhava. If this means does

it have a link to the Bhava Pada, then I have to take a little more

time to compute the Bhava Lagna according to procedure on p 376 of

Upadesa Sutras.

Link to the Arudha Pada of Bhava. Since the lord of the bhava is in

the bhava, the AL of the bhava is identical with the bhava, which is

a link.

 

5. Negotiate for new house: House =4th Bhava. L4 is Mars Exalted.

Negotiation=7th house (partners, trade). Since Mars L4 is in 6

aspected by Saturn L6 & 7, Mars hora on Saturday or Saturn Hora on Tues

could be good. Since Mars is exalted and is most directly concerned

with the house I favor Mars hora on Saturday.

Step into the new house: Tuesday, Mars, L4.

6. Look up doctor: Tues, Mars exalted L4 (happiness) and L9 (dharma,

absence of sinful, disease causing acts, gurus, bosses, doctors) in 6

(disease), dispositing Saturn L6 & 7 (maraka).

7. See Jyotish. Thursday, Jupiter the Guru as L8 in 8, hidden

knowledge/jyotish. If only Saturday or Sunday, then Sunday as Sun is

my lagna lord and is concerned most with my overall evolution.

8. Interview. Would depend on what kind of interview. If for a job,

then I could certainly ask to reschedule interview for a hora ruled

by my 10th lord, refined Venus, own house (status, appreciation by

others) or by my 9th lord, Mars (9th the house of bosses as well as

teachers) who also aspects and exchanges with Saturn my 6th lord

(tests, interviews) who is also my 7th lord (negotiation, trade,

partnerships). If the interview could not be rescheduled (uncommon in

my experience) I could propitiate the inauspicious planet. In my

chart, I feel very cosy with Jupiter, who is in 8th, part of an Adhi

Yoga from benefic moon, L5 (potency) and aspecting 2 (wealth), 12

(moksha) and 4 (home, mother, extended family and happiness). In fact

I don't really feel ill at ease with any planet in my chart so I

don't know what time would cause me alarm. It actually is not

possible for me to think of any planets as being inauspicious, since,

as Parashara says, they work together to assist the devas in their

battles against the demons. But Vishnu Sahasranam generally sets my

mind at ease, Sri Sukta is comforting for wealth, and SJVC recommends

Hreem Ghrni Suryadityaa Aim Namah for wealth as well so these might

be appropriate to recite, somewhat more than useual, to get a little

extra attunement.

9. Spouse asks for divorce: Since Saturn is Lord of 6 and 7 in my

chart, it would be easy to see how such an event could happen (In

fact, although engaged once, this never came to marriage because of

my greater interest in moksha and lesser skill at gaining income as

compared to my fiancee: perhaps Saturn's influence at enhancing

my

interest in yoga and delaying my skill at negotiating and trading).

But perhaps had we conversed during the hora of Mars, Saturn's

exalted dispositor, L 4 & 9, more happiness and dharma would have

come to our discussions and we could have married.
