Guest guest
Namaste Robert, It's nice to get a long mail from you after a while. Hope you are recuperating fast. > Anyway, you can see the relevance of Drekkana, Shastamsa, and Trimsamsa to > disease and physical/mental misfortune. Drekkana, or 3rd divisions, > represents the 8th from the 8th (bhavat bhavam); Trimsamsa reflects the 6th > harmonically (30 minus two divisions of 12 signs, equals 6). Sixth from Just one comment on divisions that are harmonically equivalent (like 30 and 6): Divisions from 1 to 12 show the *physical* plane of existence. Body, wife (D-9), dharma (D-9), karma (D-10), parents (D-12), siblings (D-3), disease (D-6) and death (D-11), residence (D-4) and money (D-2) fall under this group. Divisions from 13 to 24 show the existence in the plane of *consciousness* (mental and intellectual). Comforts (D-16), spiritual growth (D-20) and education (D-24) come under this plane. Divisions from 25 to 36 show the plane of the *sub-conscious*. Inherent nature, strengths and weaknesses (D-27) and evils and suffering because of evils (D-30) come under this. But please note that the suffering shown in D-30 must have a close link to the sub-conscious mind. If I have a cold and flu, it is probably best seen in rasi and D-6, not in D-30. It has no strong links to my sub-conscious. Use D-30 to see the diseases and troubles relating to the sub-consciousness. Divisions above 36 (D-40, D-45 and D-60) are above the levels of physical, consciousness and sub-consciousness. They are very subtle. Shiva has made some relevant comments in a different thread. Body, consciousness and sub-consciousness are not everything - there are other invisible parts of us that contribute to our existence in this universe (e.g. praana, soul). Divisions above D-60 throw light on those!! I hope this understanding helps in appreciating the signigificance of various divisional charts better! > the 6th is 11. Shastamsa, is 6 divisions of 5 degrees (11). In this way, > relevance of different harmonics to 6 or 8, and then 11, can lead to an > understanding of how the 11th lord is a malefic. * * * Namaste Prakash ji, Sri Sarma and others have answered your questions well. Think of parivartana as a blending of influences and mutual support (patting). Parivartana between 10th and 12th lords may show expenses and losses, as pointed out. But it may also show a spiritual career or a career far away from the place of birth. As Sri Sarma said, parivartana between 9th and 10th lords makes one fortunate. It can also make one a champion of dharma. In my chart, lagna in rasi and dasamsa is Virgo. Venus and Mercury are 9th and 10th lords. They are together in rasi chart and have a parivartana in dasamsa (Mercury in Ta and Venus in Ge). This made me interested in astrology, Vedic culture and dharma. I will be involved in this life in propagating dharma. Of course, the same combination may have made one fortunate and not necessarily a propagator of dharma. In my case, Sun (natural significator of dharma) is with 10th lord Mercury in 9th in dasamsa. Sun is in 9th in navamsa (dharmamsa) also. This shows a strong sense of dharma. In my vimsamsa (D-20), the chart of religiousness, Saturn owns 9th and 10th and occupies 10th. This again suggests promoting religiousness in society. So because of all these combinations, 9th-10th lord juxtaposition in my dasamsa makes me propagate dharma in society. To someone else, it may simply give a fortunate career or a career in foreign trade. As the above example may show, judging any combination correctly requires considering various factors, often spreading across a few divisional charts. If 10th and 2nd lords have a parivartana as you asked, again it can show a lot of things. One of them is being in a family business with some other family members. To see if that is the case, we have to look at D-9 (wife), D-3 (brothers) and D-2 (parivritti dwaya hora (PD hora), family affairs). Parivartana between 2nd and 10th lords can also show a brilliant astrologer. If you look at D-24 (knowledge) and look for the involvement of 5th and 8th lords in addition to 2nd lord (in D-24 and D-10), you can know more confidently. Thus, each combination can denote various things and a correct interpretation looks at the overall picture than taking a combination in isolation. Hope that helps! May Jupiter's light shine on us, Narasimha
