functional/natural malefil/benefic question

Dear Gurujis,

 

When do we use functional and natural malefics/benefics? I

am confused and this is what I have seen in most of the analysis.

 

Functional malefics/benefics à this is

used in analyzing the yogas (for e.g. conjunction of lagna and kona lords to

form a rajayoga)

Natural malefics/benefics à this is

used to analyze the effects of planets on various houses (for e.g. presence of

Mars in 7th from UL may result in divorce)

 

Is that how we use them?
