No, you have to use the " Cowries " (small shells) that have been purified

with the Guru Mantra. The translation " Giving the Number " has been

Dear Gurudev,

Please accept my respectful obeisances. Jaya Jagannath!

 

While conducting the ashtakamangala prashna and asking the person to give a

three-figured number. Suppose he gives 960. Can this number be used as per

Prashna Marga or should each of the the figures be taken by modulus 8, that

is 168 in this case?
