Is D-12 the chart of parents because the 12th house stands for lineage and continuity in a vamsa? Does D-12 represent the manifestation of that in the physical plane and hence shows parents? Does D-24 represent the manifestation of that in the mental/intellectual plane and hence represents learning? > I have explained earlier that for some things we need to > accept the > teachings of the Guru. Here, we need to accept the teachings > of Parasara > blindly. I agree. Just to clarify my position vis-a-vis my earlier question on prasna: Parasara's teachings are clear about which varga shows parents. But I am not aware of any conclusive instruction by Parasara on prasna sastra. The classic Prasna Marga, for example, suggests casting a chart when a query is *posed*. In that case, the riddle I had (a query posed sincerely and humbly to a congregation of learned astrologers together and attempted by different astrologers at different times) is solved - all get the same chart. Of course, we can also solve the riddle by disqualifying such a prasna. But, essentially, there is no clear instruction by Parasara or Jaimini (as far as I know) and your teaching differs from Prasna Marga. So questioning it is not the same as questioning the basics clearly established by Parasara. There is a difference bwteen the two. > Some astrologers of yore (I think Manteswara) have > questioned and also > differed by saying that Dwadasamsa is for spouse and Drekkana > for profession > !! They have tried to alter the basic premise of Jyotish when > they did not > get the answers to " Why Dwadasamsa for Parents " . Even today, people continue to mess with basics *clearly defined* by maharshis. Look at the " 5th house for learning " teaching of Rao saheb!
