Rules about Mahadasha/antardasha

Hi all, New member here.I would be grateful if the learned members

of the group enlighten me on the following issue:-

It is a well known rule in astrology that if if during the

mahadasha of a planet its own antardasha gives good results then the

rest of the mahadasha will be bad and if own antardasha is not good

then the rest of the mahadasha will be good.However inspite of having

studied the subject for 25 years now i have found no rules in

astrology books as to how by looking at a horoscope it could be

determined whether the mahadasha of a planet will give good results

in its own antar or otherwise.

All opinions are welcome.Opinions which are supported by examples

will be highly appreciated.Regards RK
