Guest guest
Jaya Jagannath Namaste Frank, You asked a question about Ketu in Pisces/Karakamsa re moksha and let me answer this by referring to Upadesa Sutras (Sanjay's) and BPHS. In both BPHS (Ch 33, Slk 2-8) and UDS (1.2.13) we are told that the AK in Pisces Navamsa will grant moksha. Parasara qualifies this and says that " a benefic aspect will remove evils while that of a malefic will cause no good. " I regard this statement to be general rather than specif to moksha, but it does imply that we must always take the aspects (graha and rasi drishti) into account on making a final judgement. Malefic influences deny moksha and benefics grant it. For example, UDS, Slk 1.2.69 tells us that a benefic in the Karakamsa will grant moksha and my opinion is that it has to be there with strength. The AK will of course always be in Karakamsa and again it should be there with strength and aspected by benefics for an easy path. The 12th from Karakamsa must always be examined and from UDS (1.2.68-70) moksha is granted if we have strong benefics in the 12th house or if benefics aspect the 12th. Swamsa (12th from) is also implied here. The Sun and Ketu are regarded as benefics for spiritual matters as they both support dharma, so again we see many slokas that tell us that Ketu in the 12th from Karakamsa will grant moksha, but again it is qualified... it must be aspected or conjoined with benefic planets. So it is very important to examine the 12th from Karakamsa when examining a chart for possibility for moksha in this life and we must also examine the 4th. Ketu in the 4th from Karakamsa gives moksha and again the influence of benefics is important. As Gurudev pointed out in UDS, this is why Rahu in the 10th gives pilgrimages to holy places (Ketu is in the 4th) to wash away the influences from sinful deeds/actions.
