Aum Namah Sivaya

Dear Narasimha,

Thanks for giving insight on the subject. Its quite reasonable to see the

upasana of the family diety from the house of family (2nd) in the D-20

(Upasana) chart. I was apprehensive that my birth time is not accurate, I

thought it may be due to human error during the time of recording. But your

analysis shows that its quite correct. Can I extend the logic to see who can

be my mother's, father's and brothers ista devata by taking 4th, 9th or the

3rd/11th house into consideration in my D-20 chart.

Another silly question ;Can You please tell me something about the rasi

dristi (I donot have BPHS, COVA or UPSJ). Sorry for the bothering you.

Regards

Sarajit

>I will now tell you a principle that sheds light on family deity.

>In some cases, this can be helpful in birthtime rectification. Of

>course, one should look at desa (country/region), kaala

>(age/period) and paatra (worthiness/class) of the native when

>Vimsamsa (D-20) is the chart of " upaasanaa " (worship). The 2nd

>house is the house of family. So the 2nd in D-20 shows worship

>activities of family. The strongest planetary influence on it

>shows the family deity. Look at the strongest occupant of 2nd or

>the strongest aspecter of 2nd (using rasi aspects) or 2nd lord.

>(1) In my D-20, lagna is in Ta and 2nd is Ge. Only Mercury

>Mercury stands for Vishnu, who is my family deity.

>(2) In Sanjay's D-20, lagna is in Ta and 2nd is Ge again. Only

>Sun occupies it.

>

>Sun denotes Shiva. Sanjay mentioned a couple of days back that

>family deity is Somanatha (a form of Shiva).

>(3) In Sarajit's D-20, lagna is in Cp. Aq is 2nd. Rahu and Ketu

>

>Rahu stands for Goddess Durga. Sarajit said his family deity is

>Chandi Ma, a form of Durga.
