Guest guest
Dear Bharat. I would think Rasi drishti indicate a static relation between certain rasis. By that I mean, certain rasis influence certain other rasis. Grahas in those aspecting rasis, modify this mutual relation in the matter of influencing each other. Therefore if we look at the rasi drishti with reference to rising Lagna, influences of certain bhavas on certain other bhavas could be understood. Graha drishties are dynamic and that perhaps is why later day Acharyas gave more importance to the graha drishti. The explanation about rasi drishti indicating environment, as a general statement, might not be the right way to explain rasi drishti, though it is an easier way t do that. Chandrashekhar. Rasi represents the environment where the desire can fructify or not. The nature of the desire is known by the nature of the Graha. The nature of Rasi will decide whether desire will be fulfilled or not. That is why, if a graha is in an enemy sign, then its desires do not fructify well plus inner frustrations can grow. When we say Rasi's have drishtis, it is meant that they have powerful influences on the environment. That is to say, the environment at home has a powerful say in developing an environment at work and so on and so forth. The impulses carried through rasi dristi from one environment make changes in the other environment. Naturally, this would affect the fructification or non-fructification of grahas. Graha dristi is an influence of the desire of graha on other grahas, lying in the rasi, where dristi applies. Supposing Mars is in Aries, then it would influence with its desire the planets in Cancer and in Scorpio. You can expect passion, ambition and other issues influencing or causing trouble to the grahas therein. Since, our desires come from the unknown (Sanchita Vasanas), they are cognized in our minds. This is dependent upon transits and dashas, etc. Rasi drishti do not appear to have any such requirements. So Graha drishti makes profound changes in Rasis and rasi drishti. Suppose Graha is very powerful and it can force a change in its environment. Then, these changes get transferred to other environments through Rasi Drishti too. Just my thoughts, hope they were helpful Thanks and Regards Bharat On 3/23/06, Satya Sai Kolachina < skolachi wrote: Dear memebers, I have noticed that we are all observing some sort of silence for the past several days with very minimal activity in this group. I would like to break that silence by starting a new thread here. The topic I am bringing up here is 'Rasi drishti vs Graha drisht'. Normally we consider graha drishti while using standard Parasara principles of analyzing horoscope, and consider the rasi drishti while applying Jaimini approach. >From my limited experience, I am of the opinion, that rasi drishti causes indirect ifluence while graha drishti causes direct influence. By direct incluence, I mean that planets aspected by other planets will be influenced (either malefic or benefic way depending on their mutual relationship and other astrological factors) directly in the matters governed by the aspected planet. On the other hand, rasi drishti does not produce direct influence which is visible; however, if we observe the events in the native's life, we can form the opinion that the rasi drishti also influences the planet, but more at a subtle level. Many times effects of rasi drishti may not be felt immediately, but will be felt on a long-run; something similar to an advice from a wise elderly person, which typically proves fruitful on long-run. In one particular horoscope, Jupiter aspecting the native's Lagna thru Rasi drishti has been protecting the native through out life (in more indirect ways), even though Ju is not on the 1-5-9 trine for the native. Learned members may add to my views, or correct my views if my observation is wrong. I would invite and appreciate participation from all the members. Regards, Satya S Kolachina !
