Dear Sarat Prabhu,

Hare Krishna. Jaya Jagannath!

Thank you very much for your reply. I want to clarify one thing about the

Naisargika karakas. What is the significance of the fact that there are two

Naisargika karaka planets signifiying the same thing - the natural

significator per ce and the respective house lord (Like 5th lord and Jupiter

for children)? You give nice examples - can you give some analogy here

please. Related thing - yow then to understand for example of Moon being the

6th lord - that means that it siginifies mother and enimies at the same

time. How does she manage to do both things at the same time. How these two

functions will interfere with each other.

All those questions are interrelated - I cannot coin them in one question.

But I am sure you will understand what I mean.

Dear YND and Gauranga prabhujis,

If I understand correctly, I think you are confusing and fixing yourself to

the naisargik karakatwa of the planets. Please don't do so. Naisargik or

natural karakatwa is the primary significance of the planet. Example:

Jupiter being a Guru naturally is well disposed to towards Sishyas who, in

the Gurukul system, are looked upon as children. Hence, he is naturally

benevolent towards all affairs relating to children. But he is also the

significator of Dhi shakti - intelligence. Hence, he signifies Dhi shakti

also. While seeing the karakatwa of Jupiter, you have to keep at the back

of your mind (as a background) the natural traits or karakatwas of Jupiter

and then assimilate the readings of the charakarakas in relation to Jupiter,

the 5th house, the house 5th from Jupiter, Jupiter's own placement from the

5th house and from Lagna etc. to assess a proper reading for the effects of

5th Lord, Jupiter and its effects on the 5th Lord, 5th house, etc.

Likewise, each planet is to be studied with relation to its own natural

karakatwa, its placement in the chart, its placement from the house of the

said natural karakatwa and its relationship with the charakaraka planet.

This will give a proper understanding of the effects in the chart. You had

said Moon in 6th - will it indicate mother or enemies? Moon, in naisargik

karakatwa, signifies mother. When you see this in the chart, it could mean:

1. service to elderly and mother like people;

2. difference of opinion with elderly mother like people;

3. disease to such people; etc.

Now, all this would depend on the strength of Moon, its relation with

charakarak of 4th, Moon's own charakarakatwa, Moon's placement from 4th

house and vice versa, etc. This would give an appropriate reading of the

significance of Moon in the 6th. The natural karakatwa is thus a basic

parameter while the charakarakatwa is the secondary parameter which would

modify the reading to such an extent. Hope you understand it.

The learned one's (Sanjay ji and Narasimha ji - if you are reading this, may

please correct me if I wrong.)

Regards,

Yours, Sarat.

I was wondering aboud somthing different - Moon BEING the 6th lord someplace

else - not Moon in the 6th. I am trying to put together these two

karakatwas. Can you shed some light on that please?

Om Ganeshaya Namah

Dear Yashomati ji & Gauranga ji,

>I was wondering aboud somthing different - Moon BEING the 6th lord

>someplace

>else - not Moon in the 6th. I am trying to put together these two

>karakatwas. Can you shed some light on that please?

Why only Moon? Why not anyother planet in 6th? All planets have their own

individual karakatwas (naisargika and sthira) and any of the nine planets

could be the lord of the 6th. This does not alter its natural karakatwa.

The naisargika karakatwa being a permanent factor as a backdrop, what you

will see with this is its lordship of the 6th house. Any planet that owns

the 6th house becomes the " Sashtadipati " and will, apart from the natural

significations, give the results of the 6th house ownership. All inferences

that you will draw from the 6th house i.e., short term diseases, trouble

from enemies, enemy's strength and weakness, service etc., will have to read

from the 6th house, 6th lord and its placement.

In one of the earlier mails there was a discussion regarding Christians

etc., & Rahu and Ketu. I would like to add something more to clarify

further lest there are any misconceptions. The deity lordships for each

planet is very well defined in Vedic Astrology as the great Maharishis had

done yomen service to mankind by meticulous notations, observations and

their divine knowledge. However, this is missing in the western astrology

and other forms/branches. The deity lordship for each planet in

Christianity, Islam etc., is yet to be clearly defined. I wish that

somebody did that very soon.

However, the point is, how would you relate these planets, deities and the

concerned religion is to be followed by extending similar attributions for

planets as in vedic astrology. For example, Moon represents Goddess

Gauri/Parvati. She could aslo symbolize Lakshmi or Saraswati depending on

which form do you want to see the mother. Likewise, Moon could be related

to Mother Mary in Christianity. Jupiter could symbolize Jesus Christ as he

too was peace loving. Sun symbolizes temples, it could symbolize Churches.

The extension of the attributes could be done in similar manner.

Sanjay ji and also Narasimha Rao ji have rightly said that Rahu symbolizes

either a different religion (foreign) or no religion at all (i.e., lack of

faith in religion). Truly, Rahu, for an Indian could mean foreign culture,

place etc., like the US, UK or simply any other country, while for a person

in US it could mean the other way round - it could be UK, India etc. It is

to be inferred in this manner.

Hope I am a little more clearer now.

Regards,

Yours, Sarat.

Why not ask some devotees going to India for Kartik to get it from Sagar.

Both books cost Rs 500 - about $15. His address is 72, Janpath Ved Mansion,

new Delhi -110001, Tel 3320648, 3328245

Yes

and Lunar halves.

Yes, and you don't need anything else.

>My software doesn't calculate D-5, D-6, and D-11. I won't know this unless

I calculate by hand.

I know Parashara Light calculates them.

JAYA JAGANNATH

Dear Gauranga and others,

Some small additions. I think that over a period of time there has been

some change in understanding of the BPHS and some of the words used therein.

For example in Chaturthamsa, the term used is BHAGYA which is derived from

the term BHAGA or SHARE. Normally in the days of yore it referred to the

share of cattle and land that a person got. Hence Chaturthamsa is used for

Properties and not for " fortune " in the sence of good luck etc..

Secondly, Siddhamsa (D-24) is used for all VIDYA and SIDDHI both Paara

and Apaara Vidya. Thus it is for all knowledge.
