Guest guest
Dear Nimmi, > What is the meaning of Kevala Yogada? In my understanding of the work > Kevala, it means lowly or insignificant.... Kevala means single, one, or only. Kevala yogada is a single planet aspecting Lagna, Hora Lagna and Ghati Lagna or the 7th from them, thereby causing Raja yoga, vide Jaimini sutram or BPHS. > > > - > Sat Siri Khalsa <satsiri > <varahamihira > > Tuesday, June 27, 2000 3:43 AM > [sri Guru] [Fwd: pravrajya yoga] > > > > > > Dear jyotisha, > > Pravrajya yoga: a yoga leading to renunciation of the world. > > Phaladipika 6:28 Srikantha Yoga: lagna lord, Sun, Moon are in kendra > > or kona > > in exalted, own or friendly rashis. > > BPHS 79:8 Moon in rashi of Mars and aspected by Saturn in > > navamsha > > BPHS 79:2-3 Four or more planets occupy a single house > > Vipareeta Pravrajya Yog: Malefics in 3rd/6th from AL which are weak > > or debilitated in Rasi/Navamsa > > Example: Ramana Maharshi > > has Jupiter in third from AL for spirituality. Guest guest
Dear Nimmi, " Kevala " is used in Jaimini's Upadesa Sutras (Rath ed., p. 22) to mean that the Subhapati, or Lord of Moon Sign, aspects or joins Lagna, HL or GL. This is considered superior to a Karta, which is any planet aspecting/joining Lagna, HL orGL . From the additional examples and materials given us by Sanjay ji it seems that planets aspecting or in sambandh with the Lords of lagna, GL or HL may be kartas. Even in Upadesa Sutras, Sanjay ji somewhat qualifies Kartas operating on the seventh house from these ascendants, by commenting, " Some astrologers add that the aspect cd. also be to the 7th house from these ascendants for a planet to qualify as Karta. However, the 7th house rules spouse and a planet aspecting the 7th house from either of the 3 lagnas in either of the three charts (Rasi, Navamsa, Drekkana) does become a Karta for spouse. Similarly for the other houses, the Kartas can be ascertained. " Back to Kevala, if one planet , say Sun when Moon is in Leo, aspects all three lagnas, the Sun is a Kevala Mahayogada. " Rajiv Gandhi was born with a silver spoon and lived a life of plenty with Rajyoga as well. These are the results of good karma in past birth. " I am not sure of meaning of word Keval I thought it has something to do with purity. Sincerely, Sat Nam, Sat Siri Kaur Nimmi Ragavan wrote: > What is the meaning of Kevala Yogada?
