Guest guest
|| Hare Rama Krishna ||Namaste Bipin and Partha ji and all, If I understand you a bit, I think what you are referring to there is the "characteristics" of the soul and not the soul itself, also obviously not the body. Lets not forget, that the duality, which as I understand Rene refers to- is merely of mind and body, attempting to define supremacy of one over the other at the same time being part of each other. Think of it as a sub-set & super-set kind of a situation in mathematical ways. So we get living being =body (physical being including Brain) + mind (working/cognative, functional brain) However, if Rene had known jyotish, he would re-write the equation;- JEEVA = ATMA + [physical body] Notice there is no mind there, because the "mind" is just a product of the collaboration of Atma + physical body. This is my understanding. Atma has no shape, form, yet it is that functional constant that makes the physical body work, somehow ! Physical body is a variable which is also present in almost non-visible form, yet the existence is there ( the indreya jeeva, viz single indreya, and so on). Here is my confusion and help me out here. Knowing this, who really controls the Jeeva? the mind, the body, or the soul... Guest guest
|| Hare Rama Krishna ||Namaste Bipin, I think rene descartes was referring to living beings when he wrote that . anyways, you are right in the fact that the duality of mind and body does not apply to free flowing atmas' for the simple reason that they do not have either. May I request the gurus to please guide us define and understanding WHAT IS ATMA? Namaste,Gaurav Jain
Guest guest
Dear Bipin Not so sure about your statement on physical entities. Japanese scientists conducted an interesting experiement on water molecules . They said " you dirty water, useless molecules " and then the microscope showed the water molecules cringing and getting into wierd shapes They said " you beautiful water, you are the loveliest etc " , The water molecules expanded with Joy. best wishes partha On 6/17/05, bipinprag <bipin.prag wrote: Jaya JagannathaDear Gaurav, Namaste<<Gaurav Wrote>> Rene Descartes said and I love - " I think, therefore I am " . The duality of mind and body is inherent. However, mind exists within the body, then their is the supreme spectator and record keeper- the soul. For this reason there is always the I & I and never just I presenting a person. Yes, the 'I and the I' holds for humans and animals, but what about non-physical entities that are also a person who just have a soul and no body, so the duality of the Mind and the body cant be inherent, except for physical entities.RegardsBipin
Guest guest
Jaya Jagannatha Dear Partha Namaste Water is a physical entity. The non-physical entities I was referring to are the spirits. Also, there is a distinction between non-physical entities (spirits) and non-physical properties (Aura) Regards Bipin On Behalf Of Partha Sarathy Friday, June 17, 2005 7:17 AM Re: [Jaya Jagannatha] Re: basic quesiton-interesting experiment-japan-Bipin Dear Bipin Not so sure about your statement on physical entities. Guest guest
Dear Bipin I am sorry, i did not read your mail properly. Now i understand that you are talking about non-physical entities like spirits etc. Even non-physical entitiy are trapped in duality, as the Non-physical entities are still trapped in another type of body. Our body is the earth body, a slow vibratory body, whereas their bodies is a prana body(spirits) and other bodies, As long as an entity exists in any " FORM " it is trapped in duality. It doesnot matter whether it is on earth or not. best wishes partha , " Bipin Prag " <bipin.prag@l...> wrote: > Jaya Jagannatha > > > > Dear Partha Namaste > > > > Water is a physical entity.
