Guest guest
Jai Jagannatha Mahaprabhu!!! Dear Sanjay ji, Gurupranams! > There are too many misconceptions about this Yoga and I will write about> this in an article. Don't worry so much. If I did not see the correct side> you were on, you would not be in SJVC. As per this simplified rule,> Chaitanya Mahaprabhu and bhagavan Sri Krishna would have Chandra-Chandala,> the worst yoga and of course Dr Raman & I will have Guru-Chandala as well!!!> This is absurd and a proper definition is called for. As you have said, this discussion is really getting absurd and leaving a bad taste and avoidable heartburns and distress amongst gurubhrathas. There is truly a great deal of restraint that is called for from all of us. Hindu philosophy has always been built upon healthy debates between different schools of thought and what is followed by different paramparas is an essence of such meaningful and incisive debates. In the whole episode the net result is a loss for "Varahamihira" - Dinanath Prabhu out for a month and Narasimha for two months (though for different reasons). As for the Guru-Chandala itself, what I quoted in my reply to Ajit's mail was merely the combinations indicating Guru-Chandala Yoga and I wrote to him that a presence of this combination indicates that the knowledge acquired could be put to misuse. The mistake I did was not quoting examples due to paucity of time as I did this mail while in office in the midst of my other works. You have explained this beautifully in your books UPSJ and COVA citing examples of Bill Clinton (Monica Lewinsky affair) and Chandraswami where it has worked. This was also discussed to some extent in the class room in SJVC. Having explained to Ajit the combinations that indicate the G-C Yoga, I also wrote to him the following in block letters: >Nevertheless, don't conclude merely with the presence of such a yoga. There is much more to it than just the "Guru-Chandala" which you will learn in due course.< But the fact is, most of them seem to be bolting away with their horses checking up whether they have this yoga or not. Now, this is getting too far and it sows the seed of doubt/suspicion (very typical of Rahu maharaj) about self and others who might have this combination. Most of us would have this. Does that mean we are all Guru-Chandalas. No. This yoga can, in any case, be overcome with regular japa and prayers to strengthen Jupiter who alone has the power to cut away the ills of Rahu. As a matter of fact, I too have it and that too in D-9 (Rahu in Scorpio D9 lagna and Jupiter in Capricorn - both in debility) but I haven't acted in a manner so as to belittle the teachings of my elders (including my Gurus who have a high place). I have not forgotten my teachers in school till date and even now I think of them with reverence for whatever they taught me. Quite truly, if you did not see the correct side of ours we had no business to be there in SJVC and under your tutelage. Our efforts should be to identify our weaknesses first (the possibility of Guru-Chandal being one of them) and get over them which is possible only by self-realization firstly, and secondly by regular meditation strengthening the "Brihaspati" in us. It is here that the Guru Mantra of our (SJVC) parampara - the "Janak Sadakshari" which helps us the most. A regular chanting of this mahamantra certainly wards of all the evils that can harm us. I would, therefore, urge upon you to write this article at the earliest for the benefit for all us, and, if you will permit, I will carry it on to Jyotish News, the monthly News Letter of SJVC. Also, you must put an end to this entire episode by writing a few lines on Parampara, about our (SJVC's) parampara and the need for faith in the parampara and our aspirations in SJVC of what this Centre and our parampara desire to achieve at the end of it. We may all be here today and gone tomorrow but, as your favourite poet Robert Frost said, SJVC has miles to go - beyond us. Guest guest
Jaya Jaya jaganath, Om Gurave Namah Namasthe Sarat Prabhu and all, I publicly apologise from all, about the extra pressure I put on to our class room. In fact, I did not wanted discuss about this in SJVC as it was my personal matter. It was true, that Sarat clearly explained how to come to a conclusion. Since I was so scare to be guilty among my teachers from my little ages, and always respect them I had this problem in my mind this morning, but finally it is cleared now. Let us go back to our lessons. Hare Krishna With respect, Karu
