Guest guest
||om namo bhagavate venkatesaaya|| Dear Visti / Vishnu, namaste Visti, Do you remember the talk given by Sri Chandubhai Patel on retrograde planets at the SJC Mumbai conference? Borrowing the terminology used there: For the entire cycle of movement of the planet from direct to retrograde and back to direct, define the following legs as: Direct to first point of Retrogradation: DF First point of retrogradation to second (final) point of retrogradation: FS Second Point of retrogradation to Direct: SD Now look carefully at what Sri Ramadas is trying to say in his Kashyapa Nadi techniques: (1) If in a natal chart, a planet is in retrograde motion, it means (1) DF has been covered already and FS is on at the time of birth. According to chara karakatwa principles, the planet has already gained the 'experience' of the DF segment and this 'experience' is superimposed on the current and dynamic natal chart. This superposition of past experience is a vital concept in Chemical Process control where it is used to evaluate and devise better control strategies. I had written about this earlier on Varahamihira list. (2) You had spoken about retrograde planets having chesta bala or desire...desire to do what? I suggest that this desire be evaluated from the segment FS. Suppose this segment FS spans two bhavas, it seems reasonable to conclude that the experience has something to do with the tenanted house (you agree here) and the previous house. In that sense, it cannot be an aspect but instead a desire to do something for the previous house. (3) As to how long will the chesta bala last can be timed from the segment FS relative to the natal chart and using the normal progression rules. best regards Hari On 12/16/05, Vishnu Jandhyala <jvishnu wrote: || Hare Rama Krishna ||Dear Sri. Guest guest
OM NAMO NARAYANAYA Dear Chi.Vishnu, While using Kashyapa Hora,we are not considering any Lagna, instead we look at the Hora lord during a query. We will loxcate the hora Lord in the Prashna chart, then interpret accordingly.1st look at any planets on either side of the Hora lord which has immidiate effects on the Hora lord. Then see any planets in trine to Hora lord, any planet in 7th to him and any planets in 3rd and 11th to Hora lord. Here 3rd and 11th from Hora lord indicate the planets in opposite directions, hence such planets aspect also has to be considered. As I am leaving to Mangalore for the engagement of my son,for further queries, please write me after January 5th,2006. Guest guest
|| Hare Rama Krishna ||Dear Hari,Namaste, For the entire cycle of movement of the planet from direct to retrograde and back to direct, define the following legs as: Direct to first point of Retrogradation: DF First point of retrogradation to second (final) point of retrogradation: FS Second Point of retrogradation to Direct: SDI don't know what Sri Chandubhai Patel had presented at Mumbai Conference. Let us put what you borrowed graphically. DF1 |------------------------------->>>---------| 2 FS 1.5 |------------------<<<----------------------| 2 SD 1.5 |------------------>>>----------------------| 2Now, where exactly does this 3rd leg " Second Point of retrogradation to Direct: SD " start, at 1.5? and where exactly does it end, at 2? Is the graha considered to be in a state of retrogression while it is in forward motion (as above) in its 3rd leg(this is what I gather)? Where is this " Direct " point? How does one determine this? Guest guest
||brihaspatimvarenyam|| Dear Vishnu, namaste Suppose in the natal chart corresponding to the time of birth, a planet, say Mars is retrograde at a particular point, say 12 degrees Aries. We index this position as Ma® 12 deg Ar, ok? Also consider that Mars first began retrograding at say 15 deg Ar and stops retrograding at say 5 deg Ar. 12 deg Ar ----------- 15 deg Ar => DF segment (i.e., segment 'already covered') 15 deg Ar ----------- 05 deg Ar => FS segment (retrograde motion) o5 deg Ar ----------- 12 deg Ar => SD segment Sri Ramadas uses the segment SD to time the effect of retrograde motion in the natal chart. You raised a good question with the example of DF being from 25 deg Ar to 10 deg Ta so now we basically have two cases:- (a) DF spans two houses (reference house and next house), (b) FS spans two houses (reference house and previous house). I guess this is upto the learned jury to decide, :-) regards Hari PS: I know you didnt attend the Mumbai conference, therefore I dont expect you to know what was presented then! That was for Visti. PPS: If I remember correctly, Chandubhai said that the time spent in FS segment = 2 times DF segment or something like that which same observation has a modern corollary in Keplers planetary laws (elliptical motion of planets).
