Sage Parasra vs Sage Veda Vyas !!!

Dear Karunaakaram,

Ideally a person should have the understanding that whatever comes to him, whether good or bad is the result of ones deeds and karmas, also with knowledge and faith that even a blade of grass doesnt move without the sanction of The Supreme Lord.

Now, if a man already has faith he can use astrology for timing marraiges, sacrafices, ekadasi,

conception of righteous children and so many other things for religious purposes and benefit of society,

When it comes right down to it, people who are not accept ing, not having faith etc... or are not happy with life as it is coming or are concerned with what they are, or are not getting then they will consult an astrologer and want remedial measures..

For example. I accept that the grief and pains that come to me is due to my past sins, etc.

BUT because i really want a loving marriage and relationship in life... and it seems to be alluding me..

and unable to accept the fact it might not come to me ,due to bad karma,,,,, I keep asking astrologers when I will find a good husband,,,

If i , in deed have 100% pure faith, i would simply chant Hare Krishna and with peaceful mind accept what i am due ,even if it means no more husband for me.

I should accept what comes on is own, i shouldnt lament or hanker for what im not due/

 

So in that sense , yes, better to have faith in the Lords plan and destiny..than run to an astrologer.

but if we dont have 100% faith, then we can see an astrologer and find remedial measures in hopes we can alter our destiny,,,,

OR better yet, through an astrologer , understand our sinful deeds from past lives and what to do to avoid future sins....etc... and try and be as karma free as possible, remember the Lord and our postiion as subordient to him as a servant and hope we can have the mercy of a spiritual master who can help us on the path of self realization and become liberated.

 

So a good astrologer can help a person on his path back home to God Head and be liberated.

that is why Sanjay often emphasizes studying the AK and the istadevata , as he feels his duty to aid those who want to understand why they are suffering,etc/

The real purpose of Vedic Astrology is for spiritual purposes.

I don't remember to have seen Karunaaaaakaram's original post, but

his illation of Vyasa's statement is risible.

 

Only a ninny can interpret Vyasa's " it is better that man is unable

to read future.What is fate to happen will happen,some times

ignorance is bliss and some times pre knowledge is a cause for

sorrow….fate means that only God knows what is in store for an

individual .. " as purporting to his being a non-believer!

 

And as an aside, did you mean to say " eluding " where you've

said " alluding " ? I allude to your...
