Guest guest
... hamsasso.aham .. Dear Sourav, I hope you don't mind if I interject. In most of the cases where the pattern "XY Z YX" is followed, X and Y will be beejas that protect or otherwise enhance the inner-most part of the mantra. In these cases, the reversal of the beejas on either side does not really constitute a reversal of the mantra. For example, see the 'Vyasa Mrityunjaya Mantra' in http://www..org/mantra/mritunjay.htm with the Kahola beejas on both sides causing a palindromic effect. Playing with the true reversal of mantras (like Sarbani's nice example) is a dangerous game. I realized this when I saw examples of powerful sattwic mantras, which, when reversed in certain ways, became powerful astras. ajit On 10/7/05, Sourav Chowdhury <souravc108 wrote: || Hare Rama Krishna || Dear SanjayP-ji, Pranam and thanks for the explanation. I had an earlier question for you about palindrome mantras (remember your explanation to 'yobrevol' or 'loverboy' having effect reversal?). My question was suppose there is a mantram in the form of XYZ. What happens if this is given a new form XYZYX. I have seen some Ganesha Mantrams/stotrams having this kind of structure. Guest guest
Sri Brahmadaru Smarami Dear Ajit, Precisely. I have not come across any other reversal of mantras except Kshipa Om Svaha. The other mantras are what is commonly known as samputita mantras, that is XY Z YX. The Maha Mrtyunjaya is also like the Vyasa Mrtyunjaya mantra. Interestingly, the well known 22 aksara Kali mantra is XY Z XY, that is the samputita bijas are in the same order, instead of palindromic like the Mrtyunjaya.
