Guest guest
Om Gurave Namah Namaste List, Since long, I was plagued by a question about how much a place can influence one’s spiritual direction. I was thinking in particular about Ramana Maharishi’s connection with Arunachalam, Sri Aurobindo’s connection with Pondicherry, Sri Ramakrishna’s connection with Dakshineshwar temple and I kept wondering if they would have been the same if they hadn’t arrived at those places. Researching further, I found out that there is a definite link between the 9th house/lord and Karakamsa / Lord. I am here reminded of the words of Shirdi Sai Baba (in Satcharitra) that where one feels truly happy and peaceful is THE PLACE where one is meant to be. This is not only valid for enlightened souls, but also for ordinary folk. Exalted Examples: 1)In Sri Ramakrishna’s chart, the 9th house is Libra containing exalted Saturn (Kali) and the 9th lord is in pisces (temples, altars, water etc) and Saturn is also the lord of Karakamsa. 2) In Ramana Maharshi’s chart (virgo asc), the 9th lord Venus is in scorpio (caves) along with Mercury (lord of Karakamsa) and the lord of scorpio, Mars is in aries (Arunachalam!). 3) In Sri Aurobindo’s chart, the 9th Lord , exalted Jupiter is in Cancer (water) along with Mars, the karakamsa lord. Ordinary folk: Example While listening to the commentary on vahana sevas of Lord Venkateswara, I came across a reference to Tirupati/Tirumala being called Adi Varaha kshetra. The commentator remarked that when Varaha Murthy lifted the Earth from water, the first point that came out of water was Tirumala shringa (the tip of Tirumala hills), hence Adi Varaha Murthy chose this spot as His own. During a ritual pooja, I heard the siddhanti mention Tirupati as “Maha Bhaskara ksehtra“ during sankalpam. Could Tirupati be ruled by Simha/Leo? Given the mountainous terrain, heat etc, it could be so. Interestingly when I looked at my own chart, I found that Leo, my 9th house contains Sun, Rahu and Mercury…all pointing to Tirupati and Leo is my Karakamsa too. I came to Tirupati during my Rahu – Ketu and God willing, would like to stay here for the rest of my life. Perhaps, I’ve come Home. Regards, Lakshmi P.S: I will be very much obliged if some one can give the list of signs/planets ruling various places.
