Guest guest
Pranaam Sanjay, Thank you for the excellent insight on Gulika and Mandi! > 2. " Fortuna " . What is it and how does it affect the native. > Fortuna is a simplistic Version of PUNYA SAHAM. Learn about > the Sahams from Tajaka Jyotisha. Pars Fortuna is the part of fortune or punya saham of Tajaka. But there is an asteroid called " Fortuna " which is used by some western astrologers. If I remember correctly, Fortuna is supposed to be the Greek goddess of fortune. The position of a particular asteroid is supposed to show it according to western astrologers. If this is what you meant, Shashank, ignore it. We do not use each asteroid in Jyotish. If you meant Pars Fortuna, then study Tajaka texts. My book has a part on " Tajaka Analysis " . Dr. Raman's book, Sumeet Chugh's book and Dr. Charak's books are good too. Your sishya, Narasimha
Guest guest
OHM SHRI RAGAVENDRAYA NAMAH JAYA JAGANNATHA Pranam Gurudeva, Gulika and Mandi discussions are under the file- "Poison & Fire". For the benefit of others, I give below the site address for the file. varahamihira/PoisonFire%2Epdf Thanks Your sisya Solai Kannan Sanjay Rath [srath]Sunday, December 10, 2000 8:59 PMvarahamihira Subject: Re: [sri Guru] Gulika and Mandi Jaya Jagannath Dear Shashank, Replies are under: - shgupta varahamihira Saturday, December 09, 2000 9:11 AM [sri Guru] Gulika and Mandi Dear Fellow Members,Can anybody please enlighten me on the following:1. Gulika and Mandi. All I know is that according to Sage Mandavya, lord Saturn had two sons by these names, and as villians they cause a lot of injury to the house dwelt and / or tenanted by them.Gulika is a reference to a portion of the day or night. Mandi is the middle portion of that Kala. Thus these are two points in the time cycle are a few minutes apart. They are called as the sons of Sani as the gulika kala is the one following Saturn's Kala. There has been a lot of discussion on this in the past and the final views are available in the archives in this Varahamihira class. Please check archives or maybe Solai can help. The basic difference is that GULIKA is the cause of our re-birth taking our bad karma into account. It shows the possible evils that we can do to stay alive and be on top of this world. MANDI is also the cause of our re-birth as it shows the evils that others do towards us. It rules poisons and other such deadly substances that can kill. Srila Prabhupada had described the effect in real life as the cycle of cheating. In Vrindavan, there are these widows who are looking for a genuine Sanyasi all the time to trap him into marriage and beget that one gem of a son like Gyaneshwara (Gyaneshwara the great exponent of the Gita at the tender age of 14 years was the son of such a Sanyasi). Simultaneously there are these crooks who don the garb of a Sanyasi are on the lookout of such widows!! This is the strange cycle of cheats in Kali Yuga. It is passing the bad buck like Mandi and Gulika. 2. "Fortuna". What is it and how does it affect the native.Fortuna is a simplistic Version of PUNYA SAHAM. Learn about the Sahams from Tajaka Jyotisha. 3. Ganda Mool Nakshatras. All I know about these is that Ashlesha, Magha, Jyestha, Moola, Rewati, and Ashwini are the "Gand Mool Nakshatras. Any birth in these nakshatras are inauspicious.Any lessons on above topics by Gurus will be greatly helpful.I have given the most exhaustive notes on Gandanta Dosha and remedies in my book "Vedic Remedies in Astrology". Please study from there. 4. Author: L.R. Chawdhari. Are the books written by him good? I do know that one of his books -- Scientific Analysis of Horoscope -- is used as text book at Bhartiya Vidya Bhavan in New Delhi. The books written are definitely not classics nor are worth much, but one thing is for sure he has learnt all kinds of small tricks and notes from many people and sadhu,s and this is important for the serious researcher/ Jyotisha. I was shocked to learn that this is considered a Standard text. Any recommendations?Stick to BPHS and jaimini Sutra as the foundation and with the blessings of the Maharishi's your foundation will be strong. Then read Varahamihira's works, krishneeyam, Prasna marga etc.Regards,Shashank Best Wishes Sanjay RathOM TAT SATArchive: varahamihiraInfo: varahamihira/info.html
